My baby R32I am one of the 5000 owners of the 2004 R32 in the US. Mine has 243,000 miles on her and still going strong. It was my DD until 2021 when I got a Subaru STI. It is parked in my garage most of the time but still drive it once a week to and from work and the occasional Saturday. Keep the oil changed at 3500 miles on full synthetic. Find yourself a good VW mechanic who is certified. The car is still comfortable, fun to drive and still has that wonderful purr of that V-6. The only issues have been the torsion bar that attaches to the front wheels. They make a distinctive sound and you need to get them replaced. Mine went around 145k and 163k miles. $450 each time. Keep it gassed with at least 89 (prefer 93 octane) and you can use non-ethanol as well.

Lots of FunFun little hatchback, good power from the 3.2l VR6 power plant, paired well with the 6 speed manual gearbox. Seats lock you in and make for a fun car on twisting roads. Very plain look, great little package for a weekender.

Reliable, fast, and comfortable.This car met all my needs. I could fit my kids in the back. Comfort was never an issue. Very reliable till this day. There is only 5 thousand of its kind in the United States.

One of those very special carsIt’s rare to see one of these in the wild. I knew about the Mk5 R32 from when I bought a new GLI Fahrenheit in 2007. But once I discovered this car, I sold the GLI and bought a silver example. Then, six months later I bought a near mint low mi. T. rex example as a garage queen/weekend warrior. Needless to say, the Mk4 R is insanely awesome.

Race car for the StreetMkIV R32's--the only year w/ the 24-valve VR6 (3.2 liter) and a 6-speed manual is the penultimate "GTI". Two-door, awesome analog experience with a silky smooth, powerful, torquey motor throughout the rev band. With wider tires (mine had 10's in the back) and AWD, it's rock-solid and stable and will handle extremely well.

My dream carI love this car and want to see it go into the right hands. I used to open a 97gti and when I heard about this car being released in the states in 2004...I had to have it. I was finally able to afford it in 2007. Went to test drive it and fell even more in love with it when I heard the purr that the 3.2 liter VR6 made. Also blue being my favorite color made the purchase that much better.
