I bought my 2009 EOS new and the DSG transmission blew out at 1400 miles. Little did I know but the transmission was replaced with another defective unit VW called "refurbished". Well, at 10,000 miles that transmission again blew out. Rather than replace the transmissions with a new one they put in a previously defective one. And, now the second time around they are putting in another formerly defective unit rather than a new unit for a new car. I cannot wait for the 3rd failure so I can then lemon law the car. I think that anyone choosing to purchase a car with a DSG transmission needs to think twice about it. I wonder if VW is covering up the occurrence of massive transmission failures by "cheerfully" replacing the defective units with another refurbished defective unit. While it will not cost you anything the hazard and danger of transmission failure and the overall hassle is not worth it. There are plenty of other much more reliable models on the market.

Great car for small price.The VW Eos 2.0T has really impressed me (62 yo retired). It is not the most eye catching of the 75 cars and trucks that I have owned. However It truly stands out for quality of construction, comfortable ride, performance and advanced technology and engineering. This is my 4th convertible (Mazda Miata, Ford Mustang, Fiat X19) and the Eos no doubt better than any of the rest. Great gas millage with V8 performance in a 4 cylinder Turbo.

Engine Lost Compression at apron 98800 miles2009 EOS Komfort, Fun to drive, Enjoyed driving 6 speed manual turbo but engine gave in at about 98800, mechanic said lost compression, rubber parts in engine rings or something blew inside the engine, needed new engine or complete rebuild, had to sell for Junk price. (Audi 4 cylinder) New VW not as good and durable as old school ones.

ToyotaMain problem with EOS is when anything goes out, it is too expensive. The headlight cost $400. just for one beam light. Now that is way overpriced. Toyota I drove to 100,000 before I had any problems.

For me, is a perfect convertible.Volkswagen EOS is really beautiful, has a wonderful performance, but is extremily economy on gasoline, and ir is very comfort. I recommend it a lot.

Fun hard top convertible for summer and all year!I have loved owning and driving this car. Really cute and the hard top makes it great driving all year long. Great color combo, blue ext. with white interior. Leather, great sound and the turbo charged engine gives it so much power for quick responsiveness.

Starting to enjoy can?t wait until it gets warmThis is what we were looking for. Had a two seater convertible but needed a four seater so we could take our granddaughter with us during the summer. It also seems like it will be a good year round car since it?s FWD and a hardtop convertible. The extra piece is that it has a sunroof also.
