No risk purchase since car has Toyota Platinum Extended Warranty (10 yr./100,000 mile bumper to bumper, no deductible)The car has all available accessories. AC blows cold. Smooth, quiet, and plenty of power when you need it to enter expressway. Extremely roomy front and back seats for even those over 6 ft. No smoking.

As a long time Toyota fan(bought my 1st one in 1975), I became completely dismayed with the lease of my latest, the 2016 Avalon Hybrid. I purchased the vehicle as I was impressed with its hybrid features and stated mileage ratings of 40 mpg city, which is mostly what I do for my job. I also wanted a future feature auto that included easy smartphone hookup and bluetooth connection for hands free operation of my phone. Both of those features turned out to be huge failures on Toyota's end and while I can't do anything about the mpg rating and the fact that I barely get 30 mpg's, Toyota is bent on saying it's due to my driving style; however, the fact that my center console bluetooth NAV system continues to randomly reboot and Toyota is adamant about not fixing it, even though it has a 3 year warranty on it, they state here that it's an incompatibility issue with my phone. The funny thing here, though, is that my phone has absolutely no issues connecting to any other bluetooth device that I own, plus it's one of the latest Apple iPhones sold within the last 6 months. I've requested a new head unit and Toyota refuses to oblige, which just means that this 30 year loyal fan will be shopping for something other than a Toyota when my lease is up next year. It's too bad, because the car is comfortable for my large frame and is a nice driving car, but, I'm sure I will have no problem meeting those two conditions on anything other than Toyota.

Avalon Hybrid Ignition System is Aweful!We used to love our Avalon Hybrid until the ignition system started having problems starting our car. The dealership said we are not driving it enough to charge the battery. I never heard of such a thing before. After 2 trips to the dealer and now needing a third for this problem we are questioning whether this car is worth keeping. It is not reliable and we constantly have to call AAA for jump starts. I am hoping a Battery Tender Plus might do the trick for us or that something can be found that is parasitically draining our battery. Other than that, we love the car but if it not dependable then it is no good to us.
