First turbo car I've owned. The 1.8t is an incredible motor. It's ability to handle loads of boost on stock internals shows that Audi/VW know how to build an engine. Punchy throttle response and that ko4 whistling in the air is one of the best things I've experienced. The Wolfsburg edition is the definition of a wolf in sheeps skin. Gives you great performance while you're still able to road trip with family or maybe just go run and grab some groceries from the store 😉

Need a Reliable Car
I had been taking this car from mechanic to mechanic. After the mechanic fixes something the light,check engine goes up again, and now one more ligh epc is on. Can't wait to get rid of it.

I bought this car with 125,000 miles. I had to replace the transmission and the transmission computer. Then 7 months go by and the alternator had to be replaced as well as all of the spark plugs that were replaced not even 4 months prior. Now it has some internal electrical problem that will take hours to figure out. All of this and I still don't have that car paid off yet. it has 143.000 miles now and I highly doubt it will last til 200.000 at this rate. It's very expensive to fix and gives me heartburn every time I have to deal with it. I wish I had the money to take a loss and get a different car. It was my fault that I didn't look into the car before I bought it. This will def be my last and only VW period. I wanted to get an Audi after this but I probably will be looking into the Asian car market now.
Love of Luxury
I've had this car for 3 years now and all this car ever put me through was expensive repairs, one after another. To make things worse, the repairs aren't as easily accessed, so the labor costs were usually double or more than the total cost for parts. This car has cooling problems to the max! It overheats often and will always be a continuous issue. If you're gonna buy this car anyways, be ready to hand over a big lump of cash every year, and sometimes less than a year to handle this nightmare of a car. This is the biggest mistake of my life!

She purrs like a kitten!This car was exactly what I was looking for. Sporty, but not in so much that you feel every bump in the road. The 1.8l turbo really does give it some kick, and the Wolfsburg trim package made it all the better.

Still Going StrongI got my 2001 Jetta in 2007 when I turned 16 with 55,000 miles on it and we have been together for almost 10 years now (now with 142,000 miles). It is a great car really no major issues just routine maintenance and the hiccups are the only issues I have had. I have the 2.0 and it is true what they say it is slow but it is also the most reliable which is what I value. It has never left me stranded even when I drove to Florida 4 times and Tennessee twice (starting in Delaware). It is also great on gas around town and on the hwy, when traveling cross country I saw about 390 miles a tank around town I seen about 320-340. My friends say I need to get a new car just because, but I think ill be driving my Jetta till the wheels fall off.

2001 VW JettaThough 17 years old, this car is still a reliable vehicle. Currently has 114K on it, and runs good. This car would perfect for a teenager. Should be good for another 60K no problem.

Love the vintage VolkswagenThis is my absolute favorite design until Volkswagen changed the design in 2011. So basically if it's a model between 2004 and 2010 it's and ugly butt face. I love the vintage smell too. You'll only get that smell from an older car that nobody ruined by smoking in. What's really cool is that vintage Jetta is highly customizable with aftermarket parts. Newer models aren't as much.

Best little car everI have owned this car for 12 years, 225,000 and still going strong just change the timing belt like you're supposed to. I have the TDI and we have gotten up to 52mpg.
