What Problems Does the 2008 Volvo C30 Have?
Recalls for the 2008 C30 were relatively limited, but potential buyers should check the vehicle's VIN with the NHTSA to ensure all applicable recalls have been addressed. Long-term reliability concerns often revolve around the timing belt. Volvo recommends replacing it at specific intervals (check the owner's manual), and neglecting this can lead to catastrophic engine damage. Rust can also be a concern in areas with harsh winters or road salt. Some owners have noted that the plastic interior trim can be prone to scratches and wear over time. Overall, the C30 is relatively reliable, but prospective buyers should pay close attention to these potential issues during inspection.

Best small car I've ever ownedThis car has the perfect balance of performance and styling. Dash is well laid out for user input while driving. The turbocharged 5 cylinder performs extremely well while getting close to 30MPG. You can tell car was well designed and it very much has safety in mind. Body structure is more substantial and then any other two door car I've owned. I would highly recommend this car!

A Great CommuterThis car is the right size for commuting in. There is decent visibility, handles well and a smooth ride that takes some of the stresses out of traffic. The style is fantastic for a bottom of line model. Sure it doesn't have all the fancy gadgets the bigger cars have, but would you really use them on a daily basis. If you are looking for an up-scale hatch, check it out ...if you can find one.

Very comfortable car. Super fast and good looking.First time I sow it I wasn't to excited "What can you expect from Volvo" I thought. First time I drove it I fell in love with it. Car is very soft feels like you draining limousine, comfortable seats, premium sound, excellent handling in city and freeway. I am very happy with this car. A blast to driveI love this car. It's fun to drive and it is very solid feeling. The car has had regular maintenance and it has been very reliable. The lines of this car are timeless plus it doesn't look like the typical cookie cutter cars of today. The seats are very supportive and very adjustable. Being a short wheelbase car, the ride is firm and comfortable on long drives but potholes and rough roads can be a little jarring. The turbo 5 engine has torque to spare coupled to a quick shifting 6 speed manual transmission. Acceleration to 60 MPH is 5.6 seconds quick. At highway speeds a quick down shift to 5th will snap your head back and leave that car on your rear bumper to wounder was that really a Volvo? My only regret is that Volvo doesn't have a replacement for the C30 yet. I plan on keeping mine for as long as possible unless a new and improved version comes out.

First Volvo2008 bought in 2011, owned for 6 years. Really like the car, small, steady, with good performance. It's a basic model of Volvo, you get what you pay for. I don't mind basics, as long as it remains dependable. Hatch is large and accommodating for my needs in picture framing. Lots of space it provides with fold down back seats. Great on the road, high performance and punch when you ask for it. Premium gas user, but so is the power. Super on snow and ice. Good stability. Travels well and accommodates tight turns, parking and space. I've replaced breaks, struts, windshield, battery, with 79K now.
