The Good
The 2015 Equus boasts a comfortable, luxurious ride with ample space, appealing to the emotional desire for pampering. Its powerful V8 engine offers confident performance. From a practical perspective, the Equus delivers good reliability ratings, extensive standard features, and represents a significant value compared to its rivals, making it a smart choice for budget-conscious luxury buyers.
The Bad
Despite its strengths, the 2015 Equus has some drawbacks. The brand perception may not match that of established luxury marques, which can affect resale value. Some owners have reported issues with the infotainment system and electronic components. While generally reliable, repair costs can be higher due to its complexity and luxury positioning. Limited cargo space compared to some rivals is also a consideration.

Analysis
What Problems Does the 2015 Hyundai Equus Have?
Recalls for the 2015 Equus have been relatively limited, but it's crucial to check the NHTSA website for any specific recall campaigns related to the VIN. Long-term reliability concerns primarily revolve around the air suspension system, which can develop leaks or compressor failures over time, leading to costly repairs. The electronic control module (ECM) has also been reported as a potential failure point in higher mileage vehicles. Regular maintenance and inspections are crucial to mitigating these issues and ensuring the long-term reliability of the vehicle. Additionally, while the engine is generally robust, proper maintenance, including timely oil changes, is essential to prevent potential issues down the line.
How long will the 2015 Hyundai Equus last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
The Ultimate trim adds features like a heads-up display and a multi-view camera system. The rear seat entertainment system with dual 9.2-inch monitors is also exclusive to the Ultimate trim. Safety features encompass a suite of airbags, electronic stability control, and anti-lock brakes.
Optional features are limited due to the Equus's already comprehensive standard equipment. Crash-test ratings from the IIHS and NHTSA should be consulted for specific performance scores. Generally, the Equus performed well in crash tests, offering a high level of occupant protection. The smart cruise control and other driver-assistance technologies provide added safety and convenience, particularly on long drives. The availability of features like parking sensors and a rearview camera enhances maneuverability in tight spaces.

How Does the 2015 Hyundai Equus Compare to Other Sedan?
Reliability is generally good, but potential issues with the air suspension and electronics can be costly. The Lexus LS is a strong alternative, offering superior reliability and a more established luxury brand image. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class provides a more luxurious and technologically advanced experience but comes at a higher price. The BMW 7 Series offers a sportier driving experience.
For buyers prioritizing value and a comfortable ride, the Equus is a decent choice. However, those seeking ultimate reliability and brand prestige might consider the Lexus LS. If a more modern and luxurious experience is desired, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a top contender, albeit at a premium.

No luxury experienceHad a 2015 Equus bought brand new. 1K miles the drivers window goes down and never comes back up? Middle of January and snowing. Bring to dealer have to leave it and no "luxury loaner cars" Had to walk down the street to get my own loaner car. Touted "valet service" is a sham. Next car would shut off at highway speeds and suddenly come back on? Almost got killed on 3 occasions. Electrical ground issue that the dealer never fully resolved. Then one day I go to start the car and I can not even unlock the doors the battery is so dead? New battery was installed in trunk when I bough car. No warning whatsoever! Stranded with under 30K miles on it. Dumped the car right after and went back to Infiniti.

Best car I've ever owned. I am buying anotherThis Equus is my favorite car I've ever owned. I purchase a used 2011 ultimate and have put 100k problem free additional miles over the 30k it had when I bought it. I am currently in the process of buying a newer 2016 model. You will not find a nicer car anywhere close to its price range. I read the seating is cramped for Taller drivers. I'm 6 feet and have all the room I want. This car is amazingly quiet and smooth on the highway. The only negative I found on my 2011 ultimate is that I can't stream from my phone to the radio. I had to plug a wireless adapter in to the auxiliary port for streaming.

What a fantastic car, The Genesis Brand is coming! The 2015 Equus is a fantastic car, it blew me away, fantastic reviews on Consumer Reports and JD Powers, and once you see the car.. its fantastic. Hyundai has an amazing CPO program for the car, and I bought mine with very low miles and like new... Fantastic.. What nice people at Circle Chevy/Hyundai I worked with Danny Deaquino <[email protected]> and he was fantastic. He knows the car, listened to what my wife and I wanted in a car. We have 3 kids in college and Danny found us a fantastic preowned Genesis/Equus car that is just perfect and like new. Not only would I recommend Danny to my friend, but I'd recommend him to my family and my mom 🙂
