What Problems Does the 2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith Have?

Frequently reported problems for the 2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith, and similar model years, often revolve around its complex electrical systems. Issues may include glitches with the infotainment system, navigation malfunctions, and sensor failures. Air suspension problems are also a recurring concern, potentially leading to ride height issues and expensive repairs. Battery drain can be another problem, especially if the car is not driven regularly.

While not necessarily frequent, any repair on a Rolls-Royce is typically expensive due to the cost of parts and specialized labor. It's crucial to have the vehicle inspected by a certified Rolls-Royce technician before purchase. Recalls for the 2016 Wraith, if any, should be checked on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website using the VIN. Long-term reliability can be a concern, as the advanced technology ages and becomes more susceptible to failure. Regular maintenance is essential to mitigate potential problems. Specifically, keep an eye on the condition of the tires, brakes, and fluid levels. Over time, the leather and wood trim may require specialized care to maintain their appearance. Ignoring maintenance can lead to cascading failures and exponentially higher repair bills.

How long will the 2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith last?

Given the nature of Rolls-Royce ownership, 2016 Wraith models often accumulate relatively low mileage compared to mainstream vehicles. Many owners use them for special occasions or weekend drives. Expect average annual mileage to be under 5,000 miles. With meticulous maintenance, a Wraith can provide many years of service. However, long-term durability can be affected by the complex electronics and air suspension system. Weaknesses include potential electrical glitches and the degradation of rubber components like hoses and seals. Regular servicing and preventative maintenance are crucial to preserving the car's longevity and value.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

The 2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith boasts a suite of advanced technology features for its time. The infotainment system, while not as modern as current offerings, includes a large display, navigation, and smartphone integration. Entertainment features include a premium sound system, often the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Audio, and rear-seat entertainment options.

Driver-assistance features encompass adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and night vision. Safety features include multiple airbags, stability control, and anti-lock brakes. Optional features expanded on these systems, adding enhanced versions of the driver-assistance technologies.

Crash-test ratings from organizations like the NHTSA and IIHS are generally unavailable for ultra-luxury vehicles like the Wraith, as they are not typically subjected to these tests. However, Rolls-Royce emphasizes safety through its engineering and construction, providing a robust and secure environment for occupants. The Wraith prioritizes comfort and luxury over cutting-edge tech found in mainstream vehicles. The emphasis is on refinement and ease of use, rather than a plethora of complex features. The "Spirit of Ecstasy" Rotary Controller manages many of the features, providing a tactile and intuitive interface.

2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith Prices and Market Value

The 2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith had a starting MSRP of approximately $304,350, but most examples were sold with options that significantly increased the price. Current used market prices vary widely depending on mileage, condition, and options, but generally range from $150,000 to $220,000. Depreciation is substantial, but it slows down after the initial few years. Factors affecting resale value include the car's condition, service history, original options, and the overall demand for pre-owned Rolls-Royce vehicles. Unique color combinations or heavily customized interiors may appeal to a smaller audience, potentially impacting resale value.

2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith Cost of Ownership

Owning a 2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith is decidedly costly. Insurance premiums are high due to the vehicle's value and repair costs. Fuel consumption is poor, contributing to significant fuel expenses. Maintenance, including scheduled servicing and unexpected repairs, is extremely expensive. Long-term ownership costs can be substantial due to potential issues with the complex systems. The Wraith is not an economical vehicle to own; it's a luxury purchase with correspondingly high running costs. Budget accordingly for specialized service, premium parts, and potential unforeseen expenses.

2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith Insurance

Insurance for a 2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith is moderately priced, reflecting its status as a Coupe with strong safety ratings and
reasonable repair costs.

How Does the 2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith Compare to Other Coupe?

The 2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith competes with high-end grand tourers like the Bentley Continental GT and the Aston Martin DB9/DB11 (depending on the specific year). In terms of performance, the Wraith offers comparable power and acceleration to its rivals. Its features are focused on luxury and customization, exceeding many competitors in terms of handcrafted details and bespoke options. However, in terms of outright reliability, the Bentley Continental GT might hold a slight edge. The Aston Martin offers a more sporty driving experience at the expense of some comfort.

Price-wise, the Wraith sits at the higher end of the spectrum, reflecting its exclusivity and brand prestige. Alternatives to the Wraith include the Bentley Continental GT, which offers a similar level of luxury and performance at a slightly lower price point. The Aston Martin DB11 provides a more driver-focused experience. A well-equipped Mercedes-Maybach S-Class could be considered for those prioritizing rear-seat comfort. Ultimately, the "better" choice depends on individual preferences. If the ultimate in luxury and prestige is paramount, the Wraith is a compelling choice. If a sportier drive is desired, the Aston Martin is preferable. If reliability is a top concern, the Bentley or Maybach might be more suitable.

Final Verdict: Is the 2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith a Good Coupe?

The 2016 Rolls-Royce Wraith is ideal for discerning individuals who value unparalleled luxury, handcrafted quality, and a powerful yet refined driving experience. It's a statement piece for those seeking exclusivity and prestige. Whether it's worth buying depends on one's financial capacity and priorities. A used Wraith can offer significant savings compared to new, but a thorough inspection by a qualified technician is essential. Consider models with a comprehensive service history and lower mileage. If extensive customization isn't critical, a pre-owned Wraith can be a compelling value proposition. Be prepared for high ownership costs regardless.

Best luxury/ sport vehicle available.

I love this vehicle. You get so much for the money. It is the most powerful Rolls Royce yet. It?s the best of both worlds you get something very sporty with out sacrificing the luxury Rolls Royce is known for. I have been looking to purchase a vehicle like this for awhile now, and I am telling you there is nothing like this. It?s hand built still. The price tag was surprising to me. Because I thought it would be more expensive then it was. I highly recommend this car to anybody who wants unparalleled luxury, and a sports car at the same time. I will be purchasing in the near future.
