Check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for specific recall information. What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features were limited, with standard features including antilock brakes (ABS) and electronic stability control. Optional features included rear parking sensors.
Safety features included front and side airbags, as well as side curtain airbags for occupant protection.
Crash-test ratings: The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) gave the 2007 Dodge Nitro mixed ratings. While it performed well in some frontal and side-impact tests, it received lower ratings in rollover resistance. The IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) also provided crash test ratings, which should be consulted for a comprehensive understanding of the vehicle's safety performance. Keep in mind these ratings are relative to vehicles of similar size and weight from that era. The Nitro lacked advanced safety technologies like automatic emergency braking or lane departure warning, which are now common in newer vehicles.

How Does the 2007 Dodge Nitro Compare to Other Left Hand Drive?
Better alternatives: The Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V offer superior reliability, better fuel economy, and comparable features. The Ford Escape (especially later model years) also presents a more reliable option with improved fuel efficiency. Similar alternatives: The Jeep Liberty (which shares a platform with the Nitro) offers similar off-road capability and styling, but suffers from many of the same reliability issues. Considering the Nitro's drawbacks, opting for a RAV4, CR-V or even a well-maintained Escape is generally recommended for better long-term ownership experience.

Final Verdict: Is the 2007 Dodge Nitro a Good Left Hand Drive?

My experience with a 07 dodge nitro slt 3.7 v6 4x4I bought my 07 dodge nitro slt with 82k miles on it 9 months ago for 9k plus tax. Currently have 90k miles on it and overall it's been an alright car for me. I've had to do a bit of work on it but im a mechanic so it's not that expensive for me i've had to replace the oil sending unit, bad spark plugs that were causing a misfire when my engine was cold, the muffler and tail pipe rotted out, the trailing arms rotted out, my left signal had a bad ground so watch out for electrical issues they get pretty expensive if you're not a mechanic and live in a inspection state like i do. I'm not counting oil changes/brakes because that's basic maintainence with any vehicle. But outside of that it's been a decent car for the price i love the 4 wheel drive and the higher up in the air factor i never get stuck in the snow and you know how bad it snows in buffalo. Outside of that the engine and transmission are pretty solid on these cars if you don't drive them hard they can be a pretty solid daily driver and the frames are pretty well made mine hardly has even surface rust on it if you don't mind the bad gas milage and bumpy ride it's a nice little suv for the price.

Reliable Nitrosaurus RexIt's not the prettiest but I love my nitro. Have we'll over 220k on it was the second owner at 75k. Repairs have occurred but nothing crazy normal wear and tear. Great in the snow, love that I can switch between 2 and 4 drive. I even hit a deer and it didn't stop the Nitrosaurus! Overall it not perfect and had to replace a few parts over the years but the cost of the repair is alway $1000 or less and the repairs are always years in between; very reliable.

I LOVE my car!My Nitro is by far my most favorite car I've ever owned, it's made me a Dodge girl! In the 4-5 years I've had my car, the only major repair I've had was replacing the alternator, which wasn't a very expensive fix. Everything else has been a cosmetic repair. Some of the interior accessories are cheaply made, the handle to the seat adjustment broke way too easily within the first 18 months, for example. My passenger side window motor broke, but my dad helped me fix it and I now know how to take my doors apart. Annoying fixes, but with some elbow grease, you never knew they happened. The body kit is cheap, I do wish it was nicer, but a minor complaint compared to how reliable this car has been. It's moved me across the country twice while towing, it's been great for my dogs, camping and driving on dirt is easy, getting through snow because of 4 wheel drive and 1st and 2nd gear --- this car can do anything! I am pushing 180K miles and it's still going strong, gas mileage is decent (it's not amazing, but not terrible). I plan on driving this car into the ground, I have no reason to get rid of it, it's not too big or too small, and I think it will be great for a family whenever my husband and I start having kids. All my complaints about the car are completely cosmetic and overall don't matter because they are fixable, replaceable, and have nothing to do with the cars functioning and reliability. I would give it 8 1/2 out of 10 stars, overall.

This thing is the worst i vehicle i have owned! My nitro with 86k on it had been a pain since day one. If it not for overheating its electrical worst vehicle ever by far.

Very reliable. No maintance neededI have had no problems with this car, only had replace the usual tires, spark plugs, and batteries in over 12 years. I was the only owner and took good care of it.

I had to put a fuel pump in it the first year I boIt has a lot of problems with the fuel pump I replaced it the first 6 months tht I bought it ! And I had to pay for rental tht kould nebr dialnase it cause the chk engine light would not pop up ! It would jus leave me and our kids stranded now ur doing it again
Jud on July 13, 2019
Very reliable until this last yearI like the look and the room it has. But for the last year my lights will go on on off by themselves. Should be a recall for this.

Nightmare!!!I test drove 2007 nitro and loved it! A few months later, no a/c. Here's a list of what I've been through in two years costing over$3000 !! $2000 in a/c work including fuse box and computer, alternator and battery at the same time, fuel vapor leak detection pump, throttle body, catalytic converter and 02 sensor and just had 3 injectors cleaned! Its still shaking and jumping with lights and bells going off! Way too many sensors, if one goes out, everything goes out!! I want this car out of my life so bad! This is the worst mistake dodge ever made! I call it my dodge nightmare !! AAA knows me quite well. Every morning I think "Whats next nightmare "The worst part is I'm still paying for the piece of junk, I owe over $3000.
