The Good
The 2024 Trax offers impressive value with its affordable price and long list of features. Practical buyers will appreciate its fuel efficiency and spacious cargo area. Its modern, sporty design and comfortable ride appeal to emotional buyers. While performance isn't its strongest suit, it offers adequate power for daily driving. Reliability is generally expected to be solid, following Chevrolet's track record.
The Bad
The 2024 Trax has a few potential weaknesses. While stylish, its interior uses many hard plastics. Its single engine option can feel strained when fully loaded or going uphill. All-wheel drive is not available, limiting its appeal in snowy climates. Be aware of potential early production glitches as it's a completely redesigned model.

Analysis
What Problems Does the 2024 Chevrolet Trax Have?
Early Production Issues: New models often experience some early production glitches. Owners should be attentive to any unusual noises, electronic malfunctions (infotainment system, sensors), or drivetrain issues within the first year.
Turbocharged Engine Longevity: The 1.2L turbocharged engine is relatively new. While Chevrolet has experience with turbocharging, long-term durability needs to be observed. Proper maintenance, including timely oil changes, will be crucial.
Infotainment System Reliability: The new 11-inch touchscreen (on higher trims) is more complex than previous systems. Potential software glitches, connectivity problems (Apple CarPlay/Android Auto), or slow response times could arise.
Recalls: It's essential to stay informed about any potential recalls issued by Chevrolet for the 2024 Trax. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website is the best source for recall information. Check regularly using the vehicle's VIN.
Previous Generation Trax: While the 2024 model is significantly different, previous generation Trax models had some reported issues with the transmission. It's important to monitor the new model for similar patterns, though the drivetrain is different.
How long will the 2024 Chevrolet Trax last?
Potential long-term weaknesses could involve the small turbocharged engine. Its long-term reliability will depend heavily on proper care. The infotainment system, with its advanced features, could also be a source of potential issues over time. Rust prevention is essential, particularly in regions with harsh winters and road salt.

How Does the 2024 Chevrolet Trax Compare to Other Vehicle?
Price: The Trax excels in price, often undercutting its rivals.
Performance: The Trax's 1.2L turbo engine is adequate, but the Kona and CX-30 offer more powerful engine options for those seeking better acceleration. The Kicks may feel sluggish to some drivers.
Features: The Trax has a competitive features list, especially at its price point. However, some rivals offer more advanced driver-assistance features or premium interior materials on higher trims.
Reliability: The Seltos and Kona often receive strong reliability ratings. As a new model, the Trax's long-term reliability is yet to be determined. The Nissan Kicks has proven to be reliable.
Alternatives: If all-wheel drive is a must, the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Kona, and Mazda CX-30 are better choices. If you want a more engaging driving experience, the Mazda CX-30 stands out. For similar value and features, the Nissan Kicks is a worthy alternative. The Chevrolet Trailblazer (also from Chevrolet) is a similar offering if you want to stay in the GM family.

Final Verdict: Is the 2024 Chevrolet Trax a Good Vehicle?
Whether it's worth buying depends on your priorities. If performance and all-wheel drive are crucial, consider alternatives. However, if value, styling, and features are paramount, the Trax is a compelling option. Buying new allows you to get the latest safety tech and avoid potential issues with used vehicles. The LT trim offers a good balance of features and price. Waiting a year or two to buy used might offer substantial savings but be mindful of early production quirks.

Car rides like crap.Car rides like crap. Dash board blacks out with no warning and Chevy can’t fix it. Customer service sucks. Don’t buy anything from this company. Garbage.

Genuinely a fun car to drive.Genuinely a fun car to drive. Packs a lot of tech for the money, and only compromises with its transmission (which can feel a bit sluggish sometimes). Bought mine new back in May, approaching 7,000 miles and still pleased with the driving experience. It's super minimalist yet has a lot of creature comforts standard that make the experience all the more enjoyable; mainly its heated seats, wireless Android auto/car play, and remote start capability (with my 1RS model I also have the heated steering wheel, a very nice addition to have in the winter). While it prioritizes a sporty look over sporty performance, it doesn't really leave you feeling like you're missing out, you can pull to overtake without feeling like you're giving the car its all. I've had a few hiccups on occasion with the infotainment center becoming unresponsive and causing static over music, but after a few minutes it corrects itself, overall the issue is a rare occasion. Lots of cargo space and a comfortable ride, this SUV was a great match for the often unpredictable roads of Michigan.

The car is good, comfortable and good ongas. The car is good, comfortable and good ongas. My only concern are the wiring to the audio and the screen. I have started the engine and the screen goes blank or gets stuck even when I turn the screen and music off. Also the base comes in wiener it wants and just fades out eventually. But when you want it to work it doesn’t. Also the automatic engine on/ off button. I leave the button off majority of the time but the engine still restarts when the button is turned off.

I love the car overall from front to back.I love the car overall from front to back. The only thing I would change is the way the headlights project at night time. They only go a limited distance and then it’s completely dark. I mean a really short distance. I find myself having to put on high beams often.

Our 2024 Trax LT rides nicely, good acceleration for theOur 2024 Trax LT rides nicely, good acceleration for the size of the engine & for what we need, surprisingly roomie. Unfortunately, we've already had a recall, the electronic safety features are a bit "glitchy"...get notifications that the automatic braking or lane change assist isn't working. Also, we have a hole in the A/C evaporator (so A/C isn't working) and the car has less than 5000 miles on it. Maybe if GM didn't out-source this vehicle to South Korea & Mexico, and use its U.S. workers instead of laying them off in Detroit, we'd have a more reliable product.

My 2024 Trax was great for about a month until bothMy 2024 Trax was great for about a month until both screens, the one showing speed and diagnostics, and the carplay/radio scree started going black on me. They completely shut off, then restart themselves over a few minutes time. It will happen multiple times in one driving session. Other times it won't happen at all from car start to turn off. There's no rhyme or reason. Everything drops, including phone calls. As I research the problem, this is an ongoing problem with the Trax for YEARS. They've told me on visit 2 that there is no known fix, therefore they think, eliminating the possibility of me using the Lemon Law in Ohio, however, I will contact another Chevrolet dealer and take my car there to see what they say. I also plan to drive it STRAIGHT to the dealership the next time it's doing it because they also claim they cannot replicate it - another convenient excuse. They did the 'reset' that is recommended and it didn't work...DO NOT buy a Trax!

My son got into a terrible accident, where he got hitMy son got into a terrible accident, where he got hit from behind by someone going at high speed, and his Trax got absolutely smashed into the car ahead of him. The tires were sideways and the car looked mangled. He walked out of it with no injury. Chevy for the safety win!

haven’t had any issues.haven’t had any issues. Love how the car performs and feels. 5k miles so far. Averaging 31mpg. The touch screen was a little slow at first or I had to press the same button twice but everything has been working great. Not many new suvs at this price point. Love the red stitching with the evotex seats on my 2rs.

I purchased a Blazer EV without carefully consideringI purchased a Blazer EV without carefully considering everything and ended up taking it back to the dealership in a week, so I was stuck trying to find something else on the lot to avoid completely losing my shirt. I ended up driving off with this piece of junk. I’ve only had it a month and I am already dreaming of the day I can get rid of it. It sits low to the ground but there’s a warning label on the visor that says it is a rollover risk. Everything about it feels flimsy and insubstantial. The weak engine sounds like a lawn mower. The poorly appointed interior feels cheap, hard, and uncomfortable. There is no redeeming value for this car save for its fuel economy, which is great because I plan to drive the thing as minimally as humanly possible. Every time I look at it I want to throw up. I’m going to do everything in my power to pay it off as soon as I can so I can get rid of it and buy an actual nice vehicle.
