The Good
The 2011 Chevrolet Aveo's primary advantage is its affordability. Practically speaking, it offers decent fuel efficiency for daily commutes. Emotionally, it provides a sense of independence and reliable transportation for those on a tight budget. While not luxurious, it serves as a functional and accessible entry point into car ownership.
The Bad
The 2011 Chevrolet Aveo has some notable weaknesses. Its engine performance is underwhelming, resulting in slow acceleration. The interior uses low-quality materials, and noise levels can be high. Reliability can be a concern, so inspect for issues with the transmission and engine cooling system before purchasing. Rust can also be a factor, especially in colder climates.

How Does the 2011 Chevrolet Aveo Compare to Other Hatchback?
Reliability is a significant concern with the Aveo, as the Yaris and Fit are known for their exceptional reliability. While the Aveo might be slightly cheaper than some of these alternatives, the potential for costly repairs makes it less appealing in the long run. Better alternatives would include the Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris for reliability and overall value, even if they command a slightly higher price. The Ford Fiesta (2011 or newer) also provides a more modern and engaging driving experience, with better feature availability.

Love this carJust bought this 2011 Aveo5 used. My other vehicle is a Ram 1500 with a hemi so my reason was fuel mileage but you would think going back and forth using the truck only when I need 4x4 or cargo that this would seem small and crappy, wrong, I love this car, the 5 speed standard makes it fun to drive and the interior is very comfortable for me, even on a couple hour road trip. I'm a truck technician and hate technology and gadgets, this thing has crank windows, manual locks, no cruise and no A/C, this stuff will always fail so I don't have to worry about it. It has 117,00 km on it and it works great. I now use this as my main transportation and leave the Ram home until needed. Love this car, a 10 all the way.

I wish I could say I loved it...I really want to say that I love this car.. but I gave the aveo two chances. My first aveo was a 2009, I guess I never learned my lesson when the car's coolant system blew up (3 times.) and had to have new head gaskets and hoses put on. (twice.) constantly overheated. the tempature gage was always on H. No matter what! I ended up being so attached to the idea of an aveo because it is cute and comfortable and has the potential to be reliable. So... I bought another aveo 2011 at 60k miles and put all my hope into it. I got it december 1st of 2022 and it is now January 16th (one month on it) and it has 2 cylinders misfires, a flat, a tail light out, a failed transmission, failure to accelerate, (hits rpms of 5 and 6 when trying to hit above 25 mph.) I've experienced FOUR deathwobbles. this car only lasted me A MONTH, was not worth the 6,000 i put into it...... I really wish it worked out...

Excellent little carGreat car. I take it in for the free oil changes with their coupon. It is awesome around town, but haven't tried long distance on the freeway. It doesn't seem to have a lot of get up and go at the stop light. I love my little car. It's all I need.

A very reliable little car to driveGreat on gas mileage. Not costly to maintain with plenty of legroom to spare. Bought the aveo 5 LT hatchback with 44 thousand original miles a few month ago to save money on gas. It runs great no mechanical issues what so ever. Hard to find this car in 2020 with low mileage.

2nd Aveo I bought but donβt know why.My first Aveo was a new purchase, I needed an economical form of transport to and from work. This car was that, until it got close to the 100k miles then things started to fall apart. I understand that things wear out over time but not repeatedly after replacement. I got tired of replacing front bearings every eight months or so. And i got rid of it at that point with 130k on it. The next one was a used purchase with 65k on it and almost immediately after the purchase the thermostat went out and on these things is not easy to replace or cheap. Then the mass air sensor had to be replaced. Now at 100k the bearings are making noise, WHAT IS IT WITH THE AVEO AND THE FRONT BEARINGS!?
