The Good
The 2014 GLK-Class offered a composed and comfortable ride (comfort), with the diesel engine providing ample torque and good fuel economy (efficiency). Its distinctive, rugged design appealed to those seeking a more traditional SUV look (design). While not the most thrilling performer, it delivered confident handling and a luxurious experience (performance) expected of a Mercedes-Benz, offering a sense of prestige and security (emotional).
The Bad
The 2014 GLK-Class's infotainment system can feel dated compared to newer models. Some owners have reported issues with the emissions system on the diesel model. The rear seat space is somewhat limited for adults. Pre-purchase inspections are recommended to check for potential problems with the air conditioning, electrical system, and oil leaks.

Analysis
What Problems Does the 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class Have?
For both the gasoline and diesel models, there have been reports of oil leaks, particularly around the valve cover gaskets and oil filter housing. Issues with the air conditioning system, such as compressor failure or refrigerant leaks, have also been reported.
While the 2014 model year itself hasn't been subject to a large number of recalls compared to some other vehicles, it's essential to check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for any open recalls affecting the specific VIN of the vehicle you are considering. Common areas to check are related to fuel systems, airbags, and electrical components. Long-term reliability concerns mainly revolve around the aforementioned issues with the diesel emissions systems and potential for oil leaks as the vehicle ages. Regular maintenance and addressing any warning signs promptly can help mitigate these concerns.
How long will the 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class last?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave it an overall safety rating of 4 out of 5 stars. How Does the 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class Compare to Other Wagon?
In terms of reliability, the Acura RDX and Lexus RX generally outperformed the GLK. The BMW X3 and Audi Q5 offered comparable performance and features but often came at a higher price point. If reliability is a top priority, the Acura RDX is a strong alternative. If you prefer a more luxurious and modern interior, the Audi Q5 might be a better choice, albeit possibly more expensive. The Lexus RX is a great option for comfort and a smooth ride. Overall, the GLK-Class offered a balanced package, but its reliability record isn't as stellar as some of its competitors.

Office Auto, Las Vegas to LA commuter, easy driverHave owned since new, 90,000 miles now, the only faults with the 250 that I have is no spare tire, and only a 16+ gallon fuel tank, the plus side (never had a flat) it gets great fuel mileage highway near 40, (right foot controlled) 25 around town, very torqu'e engine, zero problems with car, wish they still delivered a diesel in the USA,

One of my better buysSturdy, reliable, comfortable cruiser, gets better mileage than expected, darn good car. I would buy this again. Since its an older car, it doesn't have all the driver assist tools but, I feel this is a very safe car.

Best piece of crap I have ownedThe car is constantly breaking down and the engine light keeps coming on. It does not even have 60000 kilometres on it yet. the diesel heater has been replaced the emmisson sensors have been replaced, driving back from the dealer the thermastat stay stuck in the closed position and car overheated and had to be towed.

Donβt sleep this one.Once you drive a Mercedes Benz you will wonder why you purchased anything else. Stylish...sporty...reliable. 302 horsepower off a 7 speed automatic transmission V-6 AWD.

Don't Need Extended WarrantyThis was my first Mercedes after several BMW's and Volvo's. I bought the extended warranty and never used it. Waste of money. This little SUV is very reliable and other than brake pads and rotors, I have done nothing to it. Currently have 83k miles and have had it since 36k miles. Have the MBTex seats. Not crazy about the feel or durability. The BMW equivalent is much better. Other than the seat material, I really cannot cite an issue or problem with the car.

Not what I expected out of a MB qualityDEF system is epensive (5000$)and faulty and they won't admit it. Dealerships are not very friendly or helpful. Ridiculous prices on scheduled maintenance. I was hopeing for better quality out of a Mercedes Benz.
