What Problems Does the 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport Have?

The 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport generally has decent reliability, but some common concerns and issues have been reported. One frequent issue revolves around the continuously variable transmission (CVT). Some owners have reported experiencing a "droning" sound, hesitation during acceleration, or even premature failure, although these cases are not widespread. Software updates may help address some CVT-related problems.
Another area to watch is the electrical system. Some owners have reported issues with the infotainment system freezing, malfunctioning sensors, or problems with the car's computer system. These issues tend to be relatively minor but can be frustrating.
While recalls are relatively infrequent, it's always a good idea to check the NHTSA website for any open recalls affecting the specific VIN of the vehicle being considered. Recalls can address issues ranging from minor software glitches to more serious safety concerns.
Long-term reliability concerns primarily revolve around the CVT's longevity. Regular maintenance, including fluid changes according to the manufacturer's recommendations, can help mitigate potential problems. Overall, the 2022 Rogue Sport is considered reasonably reliable, but potential buyers should be aware of these potential issues.

How long will the 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport last?

With proper maintenance, a 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport can reasonably be expected to provide 150,000 to 200,000 miles or 10-13 years of service. Regular oil changes, timely CVT fluid replacements, and addressing minor issues promptly are crucial for longevity. The CVT transmission is a potential long-term weak point, so following recommended service intervals is vital. The engine itself is generally durable. Careful owners may see even longer lifespans, while neglecting maintenance can shorten the vehicle's lifespan.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

The 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport boasts a decent array of tech, entertainment, driver-assistance, and safety features. Standard features include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims offer a larger 9-inch touchscreen with navigation and a Bose premium audio system.

Regarding driver-assistance and safety, all trims come standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and high beam assist. Available optional features include intelligent cruise control and a surround-view camera system.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) conduct crash tests. The 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport has generally received good safety ratings from both organizations. It's important to check the latest ratings on their respective websites for the most up-to-date information.

Overall, the Rogue Sport provides a solid set of safety and technology features for its class, making it a competitive option for buyers prioritizing these aspects.

Love the car!

This car looks great and is a pleasure to drive. Mileage is good and the car handles very well. One flaw, though, is that there’s no button from inside to raise the hatchback or a button on the key fob to open it. It’s also a bit hard to reach up and close the hatchback. If these things were included, the car would be flawless.

3rd Time Around

My third Nissan Rogue. This is my first fully loaded car. I love everything about the car; especially the driver assistant feature. I just wish the tailgate would have a button for opening and closing. Great sport feature; the car really moves in this mode.

Great sporty ride

I love this car! I've had it since Thanksgiving and the only complaint is that the tailgate must be opened by hand, no button anywhere to open it. I don't need a large vehicle and the sport version makes it a good size. It's comfortable, like my 3 previous Nissans. I haven't spent a lot of time with the infotainment, but it works for me. All of the warnings can be a bit overwhelming, but nice to have.

My Rogue Sport is front wheel drive, which I prefer to 4wd. Car get over 30mpg city! Nothing ever breaks for the 30k I've driven

Very Disappointed

I have a bottom of the line 'S' model. You can feel every little bump, road noise is horrible, & it just isn't comfortable. Gas mileage is good & looks nice from the outside. But it is, what it is. A tin can on wheels! Worst decision I ever made!

2022 Nissan Rogue Sport

Recently test drove a 2022 model and compare to 2019 there have been significant improvements. It is stylish both inside and out. The technology and safety package is great because while you are protected on the exterior with more steel reinforced body there is also the easy hand-on/off with Apple CarPlay.
