Summary
Subaru OF America, Inc. (Subaru) IS Recalling Certain 2009-2013 Forester, 2003-2006 Baja, 2004-2011 Impreza, 2004-2014 WRX (Sti Included), 2003-2014 Legacy and Outback, and 2005-2006 Saab 9-2x Vehicles Originally Sold, or Ever Registered, IN THE States OF Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, THE Northern Mariana Islands (saipan), and THE U.s. Virgin Islands or "zone A." These Vehicles HAD Their Passenger Frontal AIR BAG Inflators Previously Replaced Under A Prior Recall Using Inflators OF THE Same Design. THE Inflators MAY Explode DUE TO Propellant Degradation Occurring After Long-term Exposure TO High Absolute Humidity, Temperature and Temperature Cycling.

Subie & El Camino's beautiful babyLove this car. Super versatile. All-weather beast. Was my 2nd Subaru - have owned Subies for over 15 years because..... they are Subarus! They hold their value and performance better than anything else Ive owned. Love the Baja!

Baja SportVery unique vehicle, 4-door, truck bed, AWD, lots of fun, sunroof, tow pkg, very clean lightly used only 75,000 miles, there's a lot of life left in the vehicle.

ReliableDidn't expect to downsize , but did it out of need. This car surprised me. Easy to drive, it handles very well and feels solid. Good gas milage too. The interior is comfortable too even though is small. Trunk is a good size, not crazy about the separate key. Overall happy with my purchase.

The BEST vehicle owned as outdoor enthusiastsPerfect for hauling 3 mountain bikes, hiking and rock climbing gear. Pros: Love funky and cultish outside styling and functionality. Seats four comfortably, awesome, fun, cool, head turner. Have 150 miles logged. Expect to double, low repair costs, low cost of ownership, AWD, simple and quality build. Cons: reliability not at Porsche or Honda level, non-turbo version way underpowered/ slow 0-60 and passing, wide turning radius.

My dream carI've had my 2006 Subaru Baja for 12 years now. I loved the look of them before I bought one and I asked several people how did they like their Baja. I was able to get this one brand new and I've never regretted it for one day. It has been so reliable and taking me all over the country and all kinds of weather. i've never been able to take it off road so I can't speak to that. But as a grandma who hauls bicycles, kayaks and every kind of garden supply you can think of it's like this truck was designed for me. My son calls it a ca-truck, because he can't decide if it's a car or truck. I'm looking to put more aggressive tread tire and put a little bit a lift in the backend on it can't wait to get that done. People ask me about it all the time and I tell them is the best vehicle I've ever driven, it's been reliable for sure. I have had to do a few repairs like replace the head gasket's and the timing belt and it's going in for New struts tomorrow. But it is 12 years old and I love it!

VersatileTypical Subaru problems. When I bought it within the first months I replaced the timing belt and head gaskets, more for my peace of mind than anything. Since that I've only had to do minor repairs (typical of a 10+ year old car). It can be cramped if there are more than two adults in the car at a time. The bed is big enough to be perfect for weekend projects. I see anywhere from 23-26 mpgs depending on the season and driving conditions. I work on a mountain and most of my commute is on secondary roads (which aren't always the best maintained). The Baja has proven to be more than reliable regardless of conditions. I've pushed snow with the nose of my car, taken it up muddy mountains (places 4X4 trucks have gotten stuck), and even slogged through mud 5" deep. This thing wouldn't quit as long at the tires can grip something it will go. Though its looks are polarizing, I would recommend it to anyone looking for the functionality and convenience of having a bed with fuel economy of car.

A blast to drive!I've been driving my Baja for over 18 months and it has been a joy most of the time. I did end up having to replace the transmission because I believe the previous owner was towing things too big for it. (It isn't a full-size pick-up but that's how it may have been used). Other than that, I've really enjoyed the ride. It's solidly built and gets decent gas mileage. It is too bad that Subaru discontinued this little gem. I love it's versatility.

My First Subaru and it's a BajaI've been impressed with Subaru mileage and AWD for a long time but never made the transition from sportier vehicles. I've been looking for a small, older, inexpensive truck for home and range use for a couple years. After looking at a lot of vehicles, I finally found the one ... a 2006 Subaru Baja Turbo. It's got payload and power to meet my needs, sized like a car so it fits in the garage nicely and the gas mileage is pretty good considering it's both AWD and turbo. Not to mention it's quirky, "cute" (I get that from the neighbors) and gets a little attention and comment. Really surprised it didn't sell better and fell out of production.
