The Good
The 2019 e-Golf provides brisk acceleration and a comfortable ride. Itβs reliable, inheriting the Golf's solid build. The familiar design is appealing, and itβs incredibly efficient, saving money on fuel. For the practical buyer, it's a sensible EV. For the emotional buyer, itβs guilt-free driving with a touch of fun.
The Bad
The 2019 e-Golf's range is limited compared to newer EVs. The rear seat space and cargo area are adequate but not exceptional. Watch out for battery degradation over time, impacting range. Some owners have reported infotainment glitches. Its initial cost can be a barrier for some.

What Problems Does the 2019 Volkswagen e-Golf Have?
Recalls for the 2019 e-Golf have been infrequent. Check the NHTSA website for the most up-to-date recall information. Long-term reliability generally mirrors that of the standard Golf, which has a decent reputation. However, the electrical components and battery pack require specialized maintenance. Some owners have reported issues with the high-voltage battery management system over time, leading to reduced range or charging problems. Regular software updates are crucial to maintain optimal performance and address potential issues. It is recommended to have the vehicle inspected by a qualified technician familiar with electric vehicles, particularly focusing on the battery health and charging system.

How Does the 2019 Volkswagen e-Golf Compare to Other Vehicle?
Features-wise, the e-Golf provides a decent set of standard and available tech, comparable to the LEAF but less comprehensive than the Bolt. Reliability is generally good, aligning with the standard Golf's reputation, though battery health is a key factor.
Price-wise, the e-Golf was competitively priced when new, but used values vary. The Bolt often offers a better value proposition due to its longer range and similar price point. The LEAF is a comparable alternative, while the i3 caters to a different, more premium buyer.
Alternatives to consider include the Chevrolet Bolt for its superior range and the Hyundai Kona Electric (if available in the used market) for its blend of range, features, and value. These alternatives generally provide more range for a similar price point in the used market.

Most trouble free car ever! Most trouble free car ever! In over 52k miles, this car has been amazing. Not a rocket ship, but a great city car/ev for a small family.

Best feature by far shift lever Regen Adjustable! These little VW EV's are BETTER than a 100% more expensive Tesla in 3 main areas

Love this car!I purchased my 2019 VW golf used with 22,000 miles on. I have driven it daily for the last month and it has been seamless making the transition from my guest car to my electric car. All of the onboard tech is wonderful. So far the range has been spot on at 130 miles per full charge. Of course, if air conditioning or heat is used, your range will vary. For my commuting it has worked out really well.

First time EV buyer and I am loving itThis car is my first EV and I am loving it. It was a hassle I had to go through since I did not installed the charger at home. After charger, everything is working great... except for some issues my friend I had with... not keeping their words. but Car is good...but I don't think I will buy VW again due to BoB Baker dealer (at Carlsbad) experience.

E-golfAs new owners of our first electric car we couldnβt wait to get a Tesla so we opted for this as my wife is a fan of it. We love the way it looks, rides, performance very zippy, and everything. Only thing I donβt like is the range but we have worked around it. Must say as first time ev car users trying to charge is an adventure and really have to work around it as we are in a condo and donβt have adequate way to charge at home.

Electrifying experienceThe Egolf has surpassed all my expectations. Great second car in the family for commuting around town. Range, performance, comfort all great. Sound system - wow, haven't even come close to 50% volume. On performance, I really like the 4 regen modes, hardly use the actual brakes, makes driving extra fun, and helps with the range
