The new Crosstreks are really nice.The new Crosstreks are really nice. I loved my Crosstrek stick - really fun to drive, etc. However, my 2014 (2nd year) had some major issues. First was a right rear wheel bearing go bad; then 2 of the other 3 went, including the first one that was replaced. Total cost - about $2,200 The BIG issue was the synchro / transmission began to go and then the throw-out / release bearing began to go. Inexcusable for a only 119 K miles. A used tranny, with about 70K went for over $3,000 - with labor and clutch - almost $6,000. Car is booking at $5,600 so good bye. Others have had this issue too, as I read on the discussion boards. I have driven stick for over 40 years and baby the clutch. Had a 2000 Outback that went 238 K and lasted 14 years. The only issue was a blown head gasket at 150 K (was recalled up to 80K). At that time the clutch was replaced (as the engine is taken out, so why not do it). Mechanic said the clutch "still had a lot of life in it. So it's got to be that model, or that "batch" of cars manufactured that year. Maybe it was built on a Monday morning! I will miss that car but what you gonna' do? Did not like the Forrester and went for a RAV 4 hybrid (nice! so far). Got a great price and dealer gave be full book on the trade. It will likely go to auction and be used for parts. In the end I am extremely disappointed - to say the least.

CVT Transmission problemsWe purchased a used 2014 Crosstrek trade in at a local Patrick Subaru dealer. We were told the vehicle was purchased there and all service was performed by this dealer. They claimed the car passed their rigorous multi-point inspection. Purchase rice was $13,500.00 The vehicle has lasted 9 months with approx 12K miles. We did 2 oil changes. Then, the car started making a howling noise. Took it to Patrick Subaru where we bought it. They told us that the transmission was shot and the repair would cost roughly $9500.00 and it was not worth repairing. This was a "Subaru Certified" trade in. It lasted less than 10 months and we still owe $8500.00 on this worthless paperweight. Stay away from any Subaru with the automatic CVT transmission. It WILL fail. Please search for "16-107-17r SERVICE BULLETIN".

My first car is a Subaru totally worth it ………………..Had this car for 10 years not a problem (touch wood ) 😊CVT all good until now . Really recommend this car for a daily drive. Exterior is way nicer then the 2.0 personal preference

Bad CVT transmissions, major issuesThe first 5 years were great, then the transmission had to be replaced due to the CVT issues (Subaru extended the warranty on the transmission to 10 year/100k mile because they knew the CVT's were bad, mine went at 112k so I had to pay) and then it has been one issue after another, including now at 9 years the engine needing to be resealed or replaced, $5k for that, as well as something else with the transmission going wrong. I feel like a car should last 10 years before needing a whole new engine. I purchased this new for the safety and reliability, and I do feel safe and surrounded by airbags, but I can't call this vehicle reliable.

1st Subaru Owner ....Bought this vehicle NEW and would 100% recommend it !! Have never had a problem and went to trade twice but decided not to mainly due to pricing and vehicle styles being released. Build and Quality of this vehicle is SUPER ....

owned other subarus just getting use to this one sso far this car seems great. my wife commutes to work and back .this car seems to have no flaws keep my fingers crossed.I have owned outbacks,loyale, wagons and also sedans.this car seems just as good

Best Car I have OwnedThis car was great for me. I could take it anywhere I needed to go and had plenty of space to do all of the things I needed it for and more. My dog also loved the space in the back of the car.

My first AWD car made winters in New England easyAbout 100k miles in means its got a good 100k to go. The roof rack was convenient and the gas milage was good too. The runner floor mats and rubber trunk liner made keeping it clean very easy as well.
