The Good
The 2010 Dodge Caliber offered a distinctive, bold design which appealed to buyers seeking something different. Its hatchback configuration provided practical cargo space. While performance wasn't a strong suit, some models offered decent fuel efficiency. Its affordability made it a budget-friendly choice.
The Bad
The 2010 Dodge Caliber's weaknesses include subpar interior materials, a lackluster base engine, and reported issues with the CVT transmission. Potential buyers should watch out for transmission slipping or jerking, excessive engine noise, and electrical problems. Ride quality can also be harsh.

What Problems Does the 2010 Dodge Caliber Have?
While specific recalls for the 2010 model year may vary, it's important to check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for any outstanding recalls related to safety or emissions. Long-term reliability is generally considered below average compared to its competitors, making regular maintenance crucial for extending the Caliber's lifespan. Owners should pay close attention to the transmission fluid levels and condition and address any unusual noises or vibrations promptly.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features were minimal, limited to standard features like anti-lock brakes (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC). No advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like lane departure warning or automatic emergency braking were available.
Safety features included front airbags, side-curtain airbags, and active head restraints.
Crash-test ratings from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) and NHTSA should be checked for specific results, but generally, the Caliber received mixed ratings. Some tests showed adequate protection, while others revealed potential weaknesses, particularly in side-impact protection. Optional features, beyond the audio upgrades, included things like remote start and heated seats on higher trims.

How Does the 2010 Dodge Caliber Compare to Other Vehicle?
While the Caliber might be attractive due to its lower price point on the used market, better alternatives include the aforementioned Civic, Corolla, and Mazda3. A used Hyundai Elantra or Kia Soul could also be considered for similar pricing with potentially better reliability or features. The Caliber's distinctive styling may appeal to some, but its drawbacks in other areas make it a less compelling choice compared to its competitors.

Reliable and Great Gas MileageSaved plenty of gas money over the years and runs great. Everything I needed in a daily driver. Best car I've had in awhile. You won't regret purchasing this vehicle.

One of the most reliable and economic cars owned.Never had a mechanical issue with the car. Comfortable safe and good mileage, This is a great commuter daily driver and would be a perfect school car for a high school or college student.

Great carI read the reviews on this car before test driving it. Some said it didn't have a lot of power when accelerating. I have the manual transmission and have no complaints about the acceleration. It is very comfortable and quiet and has a lot of head room. The back seats fold flat for expanded room as well. I am very happy with this car.

problem after 100000 milesI am trying to get rid of this vehicle right now. It was good up to the problem. Not starting, shutting off on the highway.

Our Dodge CalibarThe Calibar is a nice little car that gets us where we want to go. It gets fair gas millage but sometimes doesn't have the size or power that we would like to have.
Anna93 on July 25, 2017
Don't get this is you never leave the city.It does EVERYTHING so well, but no get up and go and when you live near a big city and have to get on the highway you have to have the get up and go! Honestly the only reason I didn't purchase another (I moved far enough away to where I sold my car and flew). It's reliable and handles the excessive miles very well (bought at 74,000 miles, sold at 150,000 miles still running perfect). It can also take a hit I was rear-ended by two cars simultaneously, I was stopped and they both tried to cut someone off and hit my car, my caliber still looked perfect and ran amazing!
