The Good
The 2014 Honda Fit EV offers zippy acceleration typical of electric vehicles, appealing to those seeking fun driving. Its reliability is generally good due to fewer moving parts than a gasoline car. The spacious interior and comfortable seats provide practicality, while its zero-emission operation attracts environmentally conscious buyers. It's efficient and potentially a good value, if bought at a good price, for short commutes.
The Bad
The 2014 Honda Fit EV's limited range is a major weakness, making it unsuitable for long trips. Battery degradation is a concern given its age. Availability of parts may also be an issue, and the original high price when new made it a less attractive option compared to other EVs with longer ranges. Watch out for battery health during inspection before buying.

What Problems Does the 2014 Honda Fit EV Have?
While there weren't many major recalls for the 2014 Fit EV, it's important to check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for any outstanding recalls related to safety or performance. Long-term reliability hinges on the battery's health and the availability of specialized EV service technicians. Regular maintenance, though simpler than a gasoline car, is still crucial, especially checking the coolant and other fluids specific to the electric drivetrain. Some owners also experienced issues with the charging system, potentially related to the onboard charger or the charging port itself.
How long will the 2014 Honda Fit EV last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features are limited compared to modern cars, mainly consisting of the rearview camera to aid in parking. Safety features include standard antilock brakes (ABS), electronic stability control, traction control, and multiple airbags (front, side, and curtain).
Crash-test ratings from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) and NHTSA can be found online. The gasoline-powered Fit generally performed well in crash tests, and the EV version likely shares similar structural characteristics, although it's crucial to consult the specific ratings for the 2014 model year. There were no notable optional features beyond what was included in the single trim level offered.

How Does the 2014 Honda Fit EV Compare to Other Hatchback?
In terms of price, the Fit EV was initially more expensive than some of its competitors, making it less attractive. Today, used prices are competitive. Better alternatives might include a newer used Nissan Leaf with a larger battery for greater range, or a Chevrolet Bolt if your budget allows. The Fiat 500e is a similar size but might also suffer from limited range. Consider these alternatives based on your range needs and budget, factoring in battery health.

The BestThis car is perfect for me. Looks small but is really deceiving! Huge inside! Also, I bought a 2020. This year was not in the drop down menu.

Good new car choiceWE'll see what happens over time but this seems like a good choice. The EX Navi and other app iPhone app interface seems over sold but I've had the car for only a few weeks.

2015 Honda FitWidow making first new car purchase alone; also owner of 1997 Honda CRV that still runs great. Did a lot of research & reaffirmed my love & respect for the Honda brand. Started looking for a newer used CRV & then discovered the Fit. Decided I didn't need the CRV - many less dogs & luggage to haul around now - and the size of the Fit is great. Decided to go new because it is a great value & has a great warranty. The cargo space & flexibility of putting seats down is as good as the commercials demonstrate. I still look at a Fit that pulls next to me and think "what a cute little car". Then I realize it's a Fit! My Fit feels so spacious, comfortable & safe when I am in it that I forget what I am driving! Has all the bells and whistles and I love it - will keep forever. (Just like "ole blue" the '97 CRV and my back-up car!)

Love this carI got a sport 2011 fit, with 2700 miles on it. Yes 2700 miles. I got it at Kelly Honda. I love this car! I was happy with the service manger who called me to come look at the car. I loved my sales. The car is like a new car.

Surprisingly fun car to drive! The Honda Fit EV 2014 is a surprisingly fun car to drive! The interior of the vehicle is clean looking and on sports mode this car is fast! Great local commuter car, but a little more challenging for long distance drives. I would recommend this car to anyone who is tired of paying high prices at their local gas stations!

Crazy funA blast to drive and live with. My 2014 Accord Sport feels like a dinosaur in comparison. The Fit EV is a silent pocket rocket, smooth riding, quiet - less road noise than any of the many Hondas I've owned. And it can be parked anywhere. Best of all, no more gasoline purchases that subsidize bullets for the bad guys. Driving fun and moral vanity in a subsidized lease. What more can you ask.

Extremely fun and highest mpgeIt is almost comparable to tesla s in the sports mode. Very fast from start and handles well. Highest energy efficiency in a unbelievably cheap lease price. I wish the tires are of bigger size though.
