The Good
The 2004 Hyundai Tiburon offered a balance of sporty design and practicality. Its advantages included its distinctive, head-turning styling (emotional appeal), and its affordability and reasonable fuel efficiency (practical appeal). The V6 engine provided decent performance for its class. While not known for exceptional reliability, it was generally adequate for its price point. The interior offered reasonable comfort for a coupe.
The Bad
Known weaknesses of the 2004 Hyundai Tiburon included its somewhat unrefined suspension, which could lead to a bumpy ride. The interior materials were often criticized for feeling cheap. Potential buyers should watch out for rust, especially in areas with harsh winters. Some owners reported issues with the timing belt (V6 models) and electrical components.

How Does the 2004 Hyundai Tiburon Compare to Other Coupe?
Feature-wise, the Tiburon was generally comparable, but often lagged behind in terms of available technology and safety features. Reliability was a weak point for the Tiburon compared to its Japanese rivals. The RSX and Civic Si were generally considered more reliable vehicles. As for alternatives, if reliability is a primary concern, the Honda Civic Si or Acura RSX are better choices. If budget is a major factor and sporty styling is desired, the Tiburon is a reasonable option. However, potential buyers should carefully inspect the car and factor in potential repair costs. A Mazda MX-5 Miata (if a two-seater is acceptable) offers a much better driving experience, though it may be more expensive.

Most fun and reliable car I have owned yet.Beautiful, similar to a Porsche in design, fast, great handling, good on gas, very comfortable, a true sports car for the normal working man. The blue HID lights pair great with the exterior color of the car.

Economical, fast, & fun.Nice stereo. We drove it from California to Missouri so its in excellent driving condition. The engine is a V6 so it got power. We have maintained the car well since we have had it. Some minor cosmetic issues but beside that no issues.

Electrical issues like crazy. There are known issues the Hyundai won't fix like the turn signals coming on and staying on even if the car is turned off. It is a bad turn signal relay; a .20 cent part, but they wont fix it. The a/c stops working, the speedometer stops working, the windows stop working. The electrical in this car is a joke.

Think of this car when youre ready to buy! This car is so much fun. I purchased the 04 v6 GT. The car is 14 years old and so far I have only replaced a rubber fuel hose since buying it a year ago! First off these cars look stunning and were designed with the thought of the Ferrari 456gt and corners great for a fwd car. The v6 is reliable but slightly underpowered as it is just a 2.5L bored out to 2.7L. However if speed is what you want these v6s take kindly to nitrous and superchargers. If you plan going turbo, get the 4 cylinder! It is worth noting that unless you are 4'11, the rear seats are worthless! I took them out and made a custom carpet trunk and it really frees up room in the rear. Just keep it well maintained (Belts, oil changes, tires) and it wont let you down! Just make sure you find one in good condition as many 1st owners did not take care of these cars!

Problems but funThis car was, and still is, fun to drive, but it has its problems. But this is my experience, there are better ones than the one I currently have.

Fun comfortable car!Smooth ride. Engine purrs! I boughtused from the same dealer that sold it to me. I paid too much unfortunately. I paid $5000 when car is only worth $2000 but it only had 53k miles on it which I thought would last me a while with the car. It is a fun car to drive and comfortable. I would recommend this car.

Great CarI thought I was taking a risk when I first bought my Tiburon but I was dead wrong. It was great on gas mileage, handling was solid, and it looked great! It was my first car and I never had a problem with it! The backseat was a little small so I couldn't drive more than 1 other friend but besides that it was a car that I would recommend to anyone!
