The Good
The 2017 Metris offers a compelling blend of practicality and prestige. For practical buyers, it boasts good cargo capacity, maneuverability, and fuel efficiency for its class. Emotionally, the Mercedes-Benz badge offers a sense of quality and sophistication. Its comfortable ride and available features enhance the driving experience, making it a more appealing option than purely utilitarian vans. It offers a good value proposition for businesses seeking a refined and capable work vehicle.
The Bad
Potential weaknesses of the 2017 Metris include its relatively firm ride, which can be less comfortable on rough roads. Some owners have reported issues with the electrical system and some components like sliding door mechanism. The base engine, while adequate, can feel strained when fully loaded. The interior, while functional, isn't as luxurious as some other Mercedes-Benz models. Pre-purchase inspections are recommended to check for any existing problems.

What Problems Does the 2017 Mercedes-Benz Metris Have?
Recalls for the 2017 Metris have addressed concerns such as potential issues with the fuel filter flange, which could lead to fuel leakage, and problems with the power steering system. It's crucial to check the vehicle's VIN with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to ensure all applicable recalls have been addressed.
Long-term reliability can be a concern, as some owners have reported premature wear of certain components. Regular maintenance and adherence to the recommended service schedule are crucial for mitigating potential issues. Checking the vehicle's service history is advisable when considering a used 2017 Metris. Specific issues by model year beyond 2017 might be present in later models, but the 2017 often serves as a benchmark for early model reliability.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features were available as optional extras, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and parking sensors. These features enhance safety and convenience, but were not standard across all trims. Safety features include standard airbags, anti-lock brakes, and electronic stability control.
Crash-test ratings from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) and NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) should be consulted for specific safety performance data. The Metris may have undergone testing, and results should be reviewed to assess its crashworthiness. The availability of driver-assistance features played a significant role in its safety rating, as these features can help prevent accidents. Overall, the tech and safety features in the 2017 Metris are adequate but not cutting-edge compared to newer vehicles.

How Does the 2017 Mercedes-Benz Metris Compare to Other Van?
The Ford Transit Connect offers similar functionality at a lower price point, with comparable fuel economy. The Ram ProMaster City is more utilitarian, prioritizing cargo space and affordability. The Nissan NV200 is the most budget-friendly option but lacks the refinement and features of the Metris.
Alternatives depend on priorities. If budget is a primary concern, the Transit Connect or NV200 are better choices. If a more refined driving experience and the prestige of the Mercedes-Benz brand are desired, the Metris is a viable option. However, potential buyers should carefully consider reliability reports and factor in higher maintenance costs.

I Love This VanI love the Metris Cargo Van. Great on gas and tons of room in cargo area. You only need a 5' 8" clearance so you can park in a garage or parking garage like in high rise buildings. It's a smooth ride, functional and looks cool.

Please don't buy. After 3 years i hate it.Worst car in my life. Worse than pinto. It makes so much noise. Seats doesn't fold. 43000 van doesn't have passenger window? Navigation screen so small. It's joke. Are you serious MB you made this?
