The Good
The 2005 Endeavor offers a comfortable ride and distinctive styling, appealing to those seeking something different. Its V6 engine provides adequate power. For practical buyers, it presents good value for money on the used market and offers a decent amount of cargo space. Reliability, while not stellar, is generally acceptable.
The Bad
Known weaknesses of the 2005 Endeavor include potential transmission issues and electrical problems. Rust can also be a concern, especially in areas with harsh winters. The fuel economy isn't great compared to some competitors. Parts availability can be more challenging than for more popular brands. Always inspect the undercarriage for corrosion.

What Problems Does the 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor Have?
Recalls for the 2005 Endeavor have addressed issues such as potential fuel leakage due to faulty fuel tank components and concerns about the airbags. It's crucial to check the vehicle's VIN with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to verify if all applicable recalls have been performed.
Long-term reliability can be impacted by the quality of maintenance. Neglecting regular fluid changes (transmission, engine oil, coolant) can exacerbate existing weaknesses. Parts availability might become an issue as the vehicle ages, potentially leading to longer repair times and higher costs. Early model years, including 2005, might show more issues compared to later years of the Endeavor's production run, although preventative maintenance can mitigate some risks.
How long will the 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features were limited. ABS (Antilock Braking System) was standard, but advanced features like stability control or traction control were not standard on all trims.
Safety features included front airbags and side airbags (optional on some trims). Crash-test ratings from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) should be consulted for specific scores. Generally, the Endeavor performed adequately in frontal crash tests but side-impact protection could be improved.
The absence of modern tech like Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay or Android Auto), or advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as blind-spot monitoring or lane departure warning is a notable limitation compared to newer vehicles. The entertainment system lacks modern connectivity, which may require aftermarket upgrades for users seeking these features. The safety features are adequate for its time, but are not as comprehensive as newer vehicles.

2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor Prices and Market Value
The Endeavor has experienced significant depreciation due to its age, brand reputation, and reliability concerns. Factors affecting resale value include mileage, condition (rust is a major detractor), maintenance history, and trim level. Models with lower mileage, minimal rust, and complete service records command higher prices. Limited trims with leather and more features also hold slightly better value.

How Does the 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor Compare to Other Sedan?
Price is where the Endeavor holds an advantage on the used market. It's often available for less than comparable models from Honda or Toyota. However, the lower price reflects the greater risk of potential repairs.
Alternatives to consider include the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander for superior reliability and resale value, although they command a higher price. The Nissan Murano offers a similar blend of style and features, but with potentially better fuel economy. If budget is a primary concern, a well-maintained Ford Explorer or Chevrolet Trailblazer could also be considered, though reliability may still be a factor.

Most reliable vehicle I owned.Purchased 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor Limited Edition vehicle in 2004. I still have my vehicle in 2020. I wanted to purchase SUV for family travel. I was the first customer who had test driven my vehicle which coinincedentally came straight from its manufactures that same day. I like to think that was a sign for me to purchase this vehicle. I also investigated what kind of SUV would be safe and lasting. I had one too many bad experiences with a pre-used vehicle. I been recieving maintnance service every 3000 miles at Mitsubishi Parts and Service Department since 1990 when I purchased my first Mitsubishi vehicle.
Never again on May 7, 2019
Very disappointed in the overall vehicleThis vehicle is driven short distances every day. Consequently itβs a 2005 Endeavor limited with only 70,000 miles and always garaged . (Currently 2019) The transmission failed at 60,000 miles with no help from the manufacture. The traction control system is worthless, there is no gradual increase or decrease in power or distribution of power. Itβs either on or off with no in between. Itβs like driving a bucking bronco. Although this may be nitpicking you would think a limited would have an automatic dimming rear view mirror. This is the old conventional lever for day and night driving. The information system mounted in the center of the dash cannot be read during the day. The air conditioner evaporator core had to be replaced at 65,000 miles due to corrosion Resulting from a plugged drain which caused dried leaves and debris buildup. Took three trips back to the dealer to get the drain operational. The sunroof does not seal properly consequently leaks water when itβs raining or when taken through the car wash. The fact that they discontinued building this vehicle should tell you something. Recommend sticking with the major brands .

Most reliable vehicle I have EVER ownedI have owned this vehicle for 10 years. Besides regular maintenance, this vehicle has had very little issues. I am in the process of getting the coil packs replaced along with plugs and wires. The only downfall is that it seems to go through tires quickly.
Disappointed 19 on October 13, 2018
Transmission issueWe like the car, very comfortable. But at 124,000 the transmission needs to be replaced and everything on the vehicle is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. The blower fan also went out at the same time.

Super ReliableAmazing, I've never had to take a mechanic in 12 years. Basic maintenance only. My only complain its about the painting. Not durable.

Fun Drive but watchout!I bought this car in 2008 with 56K miles on it. I love this car because it is a smooth ride. Like other reviewers have noted, this vehicle is powerful and roomy - we have taken this car all over the US and now at 98K miles it drives just a well as when we bought it (albeit 2 sets of tires later). This car has some flaws that are hard to avoid: 1) condensation from the air conditioner flows into the car under the floor mats 2) we've had to replace 3 window regulators (at $350/each) and 3) we've had to replace to 2 car door handles ($50/each). These aside I recommend it...we've had no major problems such as engine or transmission.
Love my SUV on March 24, 2014
The EndeavorLove the roominess and big feeling, though it isn't one of the mega-sized SUVs with 3 seats or poor gas mileage. The 2nd row folds near flat for hauling whatever and for this old of a vehicle I was impressed that there are two outlets (like for phone chargers) in front, one in the 2nd row and one in the back. There are hooks that are flush to the floor when not in use in the cargo area that are perfect for my dog's leash. These vehicles come in LS (very basic) and SE (sun roof, heated cloth seats, electric seats and mirrors, etc.). We got the SE and I was disappointed that it seemed to have everything extra that I wanted except radio controls on the steering wheel-then my son found them! They are on the back of the steering wheel like where you'd use your fingers to control them as opposed to your thumbs. Way cool. I love sitting up higher and I know the transmission was flushed right before we got it as it needed that, but it seems to run great at 14,000 miles and going strong.
Bad Luck Stopped Here! on October 7, 2013
You wont believe it until you drive itThis is my 2nd Endeavor and i cant tell u how amazed I was with this vehicle. Compared to other SUV's, the room & space is plenty comfortable, pack able and so flexible! For a V6 the power that it has both 2 wheel and AWD is like having a V8. It handles so smooth and can pick up with speed without a slip, spit or sputter! The car is beautiful in the inside, great lighting through out the whole car, It has security light features that most cars dont My biggest complaint with this car is the seats r not powered so im unable to move up or down. Other then tht, MY FAV CAR EVR!

About the TruckI chose this over a Nissan Pathfinder (the main competitor if your looking for a reliable, fast and roomy truck) I was very fortunate to find one is Pristine condition with 65,000 miles for 10,500USD with original paint intact and its the AWD version (the best in my opinion). The Interior is very refined, somewhat simple and feels Very comfortable on the eyes and its very roomy compared to my other option The visibility is almost perfect, everything is 100% fully visible when you apply a round Mirror sticker to the Driverside Mirror. It feels like a VERY solid truck, as soon as I got it, I got all of my belts changed, Peace of mind, I know that It will not break for the next 60-70K miles, It feels like a new truck, drives and sounds like one, so Im very sure of the reliability of my car. for 10.5K + 700USD + about 2500$ for registry and taxes, for a car like this, in this kind of shape, im EXTREAMLY SATISFIED.

Best performance for a truckthis truck is the best in anything, from speeding up on the highways to climbing up the hills. the only thing that i didn't like about the car is the resale value, besides that i think im going to be keeping this truck for a very long time. It's a little tight in the back for a person who's 6ft. but i'm always driving so it doesn't make a difference. It handles like a sports car, very quick and stays balanced...perfect truck in my eyes
