The Good
The 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser's key advantage is its distinctive retro design, appealing to emotional buyers seeking a unique look. Practically, it offers a spacious interior for its size and decent fuel economy. While not a performance car, it provides adequate power for daily driving and represents good value for the price, especially on the used market.
The Bad
Known weaknesses of the 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser include its somewhat unrefined driving experience, below-average reliability compared to some competitors, and potential for electrical issues. Watch out for rust, especially in areas with harsh winters, and check the engine for oil leaks. Interior plastics can also be prone to wear and tear.

What Problems Does the 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Have?
Recalls for the 2007 PT Cruiser have addressed issues such as potential problems with the ignition switch and airbag deployment. Long-term reliability is generally considered below average compared to other vehicles in its class. The turbocharger on the turbocharged models can also be a point of concern, requiring careful maintenance to prevent failure. Furthermore, some owners have reported issues with the cooling system, including leaks and radiator problems, which can lead to engine overheating if not addressed promptly. It's important to research specific recalls and technical service bulletins related to the 2007 model year before purchasing.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Safety features included front airbags and available side airbags. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash tests results vary, but generally rated the PT Cruiser as "Acceptable" in some frontal crash tests and "Marginal" in side impact tests. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave it a mix of 4 and 5-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests.
The 2007 model lacked modern tech like Bluetooth connectivity, navigation systems, or advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). While some trims offered features like cruise control, the PT Cruiser was not at the forefront of technological innovation for its era. Its primary focus was on providing affordable transportation with a unique style, rather than cutting-edge technology.

How Does the 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Compare to Other Wagon?
Alternatives to the PT Cruiser that offer similar practicality and better overall value include the Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe (which are essentially the same car), the Honda Civic (for reliability and fuel economy), or even a small SUV like the Honda CR-V (if more space is needed). If you prioritize reliability and overall quality, those vehicles are generally better choices than the PT Cruiser. However, if you're on a very tight budget and value the PT Cruiser's unique style and versatile interior, it could be considered, but be prepared for potential repairs.

Good cheap carI use this car for my delivery business. It’s my second one! The cargo space is incredible with modular seating. The gas mileage is pretty good, considering how much stuff it can haul. It’s very eye catching, for it’s retro styled design and that’s good for business. My kids think it’s cool and I get a lot of compliments from customers. Parts are cheap and interchangeable with a few other models. It’s not a racehorse, but it’s zippy enough to get around. Oh yeah and it’s cheap. You can fan them everywhere, with low miles, for under 5 grand.

Worst car ever to ownNice looking car and had some get up and go but only owned it for about a year having bought from a dealer used and spent $ 3500.00 in repairs. Bought car AS IS and new it needed rear shocks and tires, But after getting home and checking it needed new wiper blades all around, plugs had never been changed and replaced them and plug wires, No filter in cabin air compartment. Put one in. Oil filter was on very tight when I changed oil had to run screwdriver thru filter and pound off. Oil drain plug was way to tight and had to beat it loose and rubber seal on plug was gone. Thought oil leak on valve cover was needing a new gasket but turned out to be a leak lower on motor and head gasket needed to be replaced. I detailed the car my self and looked very good and out side cleaned up well. I was 5th owner and car had 82,000 miles on at that time. After selling this car this month { August} I would not own one again.
