2013 Chevrolet Cruze Prices and Market Value
The Cruze has experienced significant depreciation, typical for compact sedans. How Does the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze Compare to Other 2LT?
However, the Cruze's reliability is generally considered lower than the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, which are known for their longevity and fewer reported issues. The Hyundai Elantra offers a similar value proposition with a slightly better warranty. The Ford Focus (especially with the problematic dual-clutch transmission) can have reliability issues too.
Alternatives to the Cruze include:
- Honda Civic: More reliable, better resale value.
- Toyota Corolla: Excellent reliability, good fuel economy.
- Hyundai Elantra: Good value, long warranty.
- Mazda3: Sportier handling, more engaging driving experience.
If reliability is a top priority, the Civic or Corolla are better choices. If you're looking for a sportier drive, the Mazda3 is a good option. If value is paramount, the Elantra offers a compelling alternative.

Final Verdict: Is the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze a Good 2LT?
It's generally worth considering only as a used vehicle due to its age and depreciation. Before buying, thoroughly inspect the car for common issues like coolant leaks, turbocharger problems, and electrical glitches. Look for well-maintained examples with detailed service records. A pre-purchase inspection by a trusted mechanic is highly recommended to assess the vehicle's condition and identify any potential problems. Be cautious about the 1.4L turbo engine due to potential issues.

Worst engine built.Worst engine built. Everything is plastic. Turbo cracked. Coolant exploded. I have never had a worse car. It's a good car for small family. Only the money spent on repairs outweighs that 1 positive.

2013 Cruze LS 1.8LI owned a 2013 LS from 2013-2020. I had the 1.8 L which seems to have less problems than the 1.4 turbo. From the years I owned it the water pump needed to be replaced and regular maintenance. As the base model the interior wasn’t the greatest but it was meant to get me from A to B. I eventually traded it in for a 2020 equinox. Overall the Cruze did well for me.

2013 Cruze ECO 6 speed manual fun and reliable carI bought my 2013 Chevy Cruze ECO 6 years ago with 29K miles and now it has 114K miles. It is fun to drive (6 speed manual), quiet, and gets 44 MPG on my daily commute down mostly secondary country roads. I love the style and comfort and it has been super reliable. I only use full synthetic motor oil because of the turbo and I don't constantly hammer the 4 cylinder engine. The handling on country roads is fun and excellent. Love this car, its a keeper. I just wish GM didn't stop making cars, I mean who wants to drive dump trucks?

Terrible car! This is absolutely the worst car I’ve ever owned. I have had issues with this car since I’ve driven it off the lot. It has stalled three times in the middle of traffic within a span of less than 6 months. Do not buy this car! Will not be buying another Chevy ever
