The Good
The 2009 Dodge Avenger offered a relatively aggressive design that appealed to those wanting a bolder looking sedan. Performance, especially with the R/T trim's V6, provided adequate power. From a practical standpoint, it offered a decent amount of interior space and, when used, could be found at a budget-friendly price.
The Bad
The 2009 Dodge Avenger had some known weaknesses, including subpar interior quality with hard plastics and a generally unrefined feel. Reliability could be a concern, with potential issues related to the transmission and electrical systems. Ride quality was also criticized for being firm and not particularly comfortable.

Long-term reliability is generally considered below average compared to its competitors. Owners should be prepared for potential maintenance and repairs, especially as the car ages. Alternatives to consider include the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord for their superior reliability and resale value. The Ford Fusion offered a better driving experience and more refined interior. Final Verdict: Is the 2009 Dodge Avenger a Good Passenger Sedan?

Biggest money pit I have ever ownedThis car has given me more trouble especially with electrical issues, but SO MANY other parts have needed replaced and I have sunk over $4,000 in repairs in the 2 years I've had it. I only bought it for $2000! These cars are JUNK just ask any good mechanic. I have also recently bought a Chrysler 200 which has almost the EXACT SAME ISSUES! I have owned many cars and none have been as crappy or such m money pit as Dodge and Chrysler! Stay away from any of their cars because they apparently only put effort into their TRUCKS. if you want a reliable vehicle look at Toyotas, Mazda, Nissan, Volvo. American made cars just keep getting more expensive and they just keep making them cheaper and not ment to last long. It saddens me to say that because my entire family works for American car manufacturers but unfortunately now they don't build cars to last, they have a goal of getting you into the dealership as often as possible to continue milking you for money because cars that cost $30,000 and more just isn't greedy enough for the American car companies.

Great car . . . best I've had!I've owned my 2010 Avenger since 2012, so it's been 8 years. It now has almost 118,000 miles and is still running great, with no major repairs . . . just routine tires, oil changes, and brakes. I live in MI, so it's been weather tested . . . handles great in snow too! It's a 4 cyl, so good on gas, and my friends are surprised how much get- up- and- go she has! Very sporty/good looking and comfortable car! I want to purchase another, if I can find one with very low mileage, since they quit making them in 2014. Great overall vehicle!
