The Good
The 2022 Honda HR-V offers excellent reliability, a comfortable ride, and a functional design. Its fuel efficiency appeals to practical buyers, while the Honda badge provides emotional assurance. While not a performance powerhouse, it delivers adequate power for daily driving and provides good value for its segment.
The Bad
The 2022 Honda HR-V's weaknesses include its somewhat underpowered engine, which can feel sluggish, especially when fully loaded or going uphill. Some reviews also mention the infotainment system being outdated. The rear seat space, while adequate, isn't class-leading.

What Problems Does the 2022 Honda HR-V Have?
It's crucial to check for any recalls issued by Honda or the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Check the Honda website or the NHTSA website using the VIN to see if there are any open recalls. Even though 2022 models are relatively new, it’s wise to keep monitoring for potential future issues as the vehicle ages.
Generally, Honda has a good reputation for reliability, and the HR-V is expected to follow this trend. Regular maintenance, following the manufacturer's recommendations, is key to preventing issues and ensuring long-term durability. As the vehicle ages, potential issues related to the CVT, electrical components, and air conditioning system should be monitored.

How Does the 2022 Honda HR-V Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?
Reliability: Honda's reputation gives it an edge over some competitors.
Price: The HR-V's price is competitive within the segment.
Alternatives:
- Mazda CX-30: Offers a more engaging driving experience and a premium interior.
- Hyundai Kona: Provides a bolder design and optional turbo engine.
- Kia Seltos: Offers more cargo space and value for the money, with a longer warranty.
- Nissan Kicks: A more affordable option, but lacks AWD.
If performance is a priority, the CX-30 or Kona are better choices. If value and space are key, the Seltos is a strong contender. For those prioritizing fuel economy and price, Nissan Kicks is a good choice.

I own this car for about 2 1/2 years.I own this car for about 2 1/2 years. I'm not a fan. The seats are uncomfortable. The seat warmer does not work. The heat is awful. I have taken it in to get fixed and they say there's nothing wrong with the car, but there is hardly any heat in the car. It has OK pick up for a small car.

The HR-V is a great vehicle, however, the option ofThe HR-V is a great vehicle, however, the option of heated seat is enemic. Have taken back to dealer 3 times for testing and they say there is nothing wrong and meets specs. I changed dealers and got the same resuts. Well my bottom tells another story and have tested both driver and passenger for heat in the dead of winter of winter. There is absolutely no heat from either seat. Tested from current dealer with the same results. Maybe we are jinxs as my wife and other passengers can confirm lack of heat, or, no heat at all.

Good run around car but could be better. It is a great run around car. There are a few things we didn't realize when we purchased our HRV. Things you don't think about until you go to use them. For example we assumed since there was an automatic rear open button on the key faab it had it. It does not. This is a car we planned to keep for many years (into our old age) and the back hatch is rather hard to close. No review mirror defrost (our 2005 & 2007 Honda's both have this). I miss the option to hold down the unlock key to roll down your windows (this is wonderful to have during the summer months where we live). No automatic unlock button on the passenger side (only drivers side). Everthing shows on the interior (we have cloth). It is almost like it has holes and grabs everything it possibly can.

2022 HR-V sportI Have a 22 sport in blizzard pearl which I absolutely love with the color contrast black wheels and trim. The look is very sporty yet upscale and sophisticated. Got it 2 years ago for 25k otd another positive. Unfortunately that's about all I care for with the car. Seats are uncomfortable for any long distance. I haven't for the life of me in 2 years found a good seating position, luckily it has a tilt/telescope wheel so I can at least have the wheel at a comfortable spot. I really wish these came with power seats. Around town it feels lite and easy to maneuver even with it's huge rear blindspots. But it is SLOW to get to highway speeds and the cvt constantly fights to find a ratio it likes with the anemic engine. Suspension is terrible. Way too choppy on and off the highway, it really doesn't like any kind of bump. Back up cam works decently. Radio is just bad all around from ease of use to the visuals themselves just looks old and grainy. I'll be keeping it until spring and can't wait to get into something else. Not a terrible car but there are much better options.

Decent for the money.1 year - no problems. Maintenance service was fast and good. No solutions made that I could find for lowering back hatch for short people, like me. Weatherproof floor mats a nice touch. Decent for the money.

GREAT SUVGreat highway cruiser. Drive it normal and it reacts to your habits. Not alot of get up and go power but it likes to be driven. Great on gas. Would absolutely recommend. Small yet big. Your propped up, not feel like sitting on ground especially when you're getting out of it.

This car is a disappointmentThis car sucks, rear passenger complaints no air, only from the front, embarrassing 2022 not like the pilot, that has air flow, worst car I ever bought.

Inconvenient and UncomfortableI've been driving Hondas for over 25 years. It's no secret that I'm a Honda lover. I've had Civics, Accords, Odysseys, Ridgelines... you name it. But while my 2020 Accord Sport is at the dealership for a little maintenance, the dealership gave me a 2022 HR-V Sport to use while I wait for my new tires to be shipped to them. After 4 days with this vehicle, I can't wait to give it back. The placement of everything is inconvenient and uncomfortable. My elbows hit my drink in the cup holder. The cord for my phone is next to my foot, and the cubby to store my phone, gum, etc is down near my feet. The arm rest on the door is too low for my arm to rest on it. Mind you, I'm a 5'5" woman. So it's not like I'm a 6+ foot tall man. Then there's the weird thing under the front seats that prevent you from moving your left leg back, and keeps your passenger in the front seat from sitting comfortably as well. Then there's this oddly placed plastic screen at the bottom of the steering wheel that keeps you from gripping that part of the wheel. And on the sport trim, the steering wheel doesn't tilt. It sits at an odd angle that's not comfortable to drive. Leg room in both the front and back seats is lacking tremendously. My 5 year old has barely any room to get in and out of his booster seat, and he's small for 5 years old. My adult children can't fit at all, and none of them are considered "tall". My younger kids can't reach the oddly high door handles on the outside to let themselves into the back seat. So I have to walk around, opening doors for my kids. I don't know who Honda saw as their target demographic, but I'd bet the farm they were aiming at 4 foot tall teenage girls who don't plan on having any passengers. It's only got 900 miles on it and it has a bit of shaking/rumbling upon starting it up.

HRV-SportI got the HRV-Sport and I absolutely love everything about it. I really can't wait to drive it in the snow. This is my first Honda I have ever bought and I will most likely be sticking with just Honda vehicles

Great HRVI love this HRV. I live in MA and it's a beast in the snow. I've heard that it's slow but I found it has plenty of pep. I love the looks of it. It's awesome. I picked this my 3rd Honda for the dependability and value
