The Good
The 2014 Jaguar XK offers thrilling performance from its V8 engines, especially in XKR trim. Its luxurious interior and comfortable ride appeal to those seeking refinement. The elegant design evokes emotion, while decent reliability (for its class) and potential value on the used market appeal to practical buyers. It provides a blend of power, beauty and comfort.
The Bad
The 2014 Jaguar XK's weaknesses include potentially high maintenance costs, especially related to its complex electronics and supercharged engine (XKR). Some owners have reported issues with the infotainment system and electrical gremlins. Watch out for worn suspension components and potential oil leaks. Fuel economy is also not a strong point.

Analysis
What Problems Does the 2014 Jaguar XK Have?
Recalls are relatively infrequent, but it's crucial to check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for any active recalls related to the vehicle's VIN. These could involve safety-related issues that require immediate attention.
Long-term reliability concerns often center around the aging of the electronics and the potential for increased maintenance costs as the car ages. The supercharged XKR model, in particular, can be more prone to costly repairs due to the added complexity of the forced-induction system. Oil leaks are not uncommon as the engine ages, especially around gaskets and seals. Suspension components, such as bushings and dampers, may also require replacement over time. Specific model years within the XK range (2007-2015) may have slightly different prevalence rates for certain issues, but the general trend of electrical and age-related mechanical problems remains consistent.
How long will the 2014 Jaguar XK last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Optional features included adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring. Safety features encompass standard airbags (front, side, and curtain), anti-lock brakes (ABS), traction control, and stability control.
Crash test ratings from organizations like the NHTSA and IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) for the 2014 XK are limited. However, earlier model years of the XK generally received good marks for occupant protection in frontal and side-impact tests. It's important to note that crash test standards have evolved since 2014, so direct comparisons with newer vehicles are difficult. The vehicle's robust structure and array of safety features contribute to overall safety. The lack of modern driver-assistance systems, such as lane departure warning or automatic emergency braking, is a drawback compared to newer cars.

How Does the 2014 Jaguar XK Compare to Other Coupe?
Alternatives to the 2014 Jaguar XK include:
- BMW 6 Series: Offers a more modern interior and generally better reliability.
- Mercedes-Benz SL-Class: Known for its luxurious features and refined driving experience.
- Porsche 911: Provides superior handling and performance, but at a higher price point and potentially less comfortable for long-distance cruising.
For buyers prioritizing performance and handling, the Porsche 911 is a better choice. For those seeking a balance of luxury, performance, and reliability, the BMW 6 Series may be a stronger contender. The Jaguar XK appeals to those who value its distinctive British styling and unique character.

You won't find a better car for the moneyI love the fact that Jaguar's still have a bad rap on reliability. That assures me that I can get a used one for a great price. As for the reliability... I've owned four of them now. My original Jag's an 82' and 89' although great to drive, WERE maintenance nightmares. My 2005 XK8 and now my 2014 XK are as solid as can be. I drove my 2005 until it reached 203,000 miles and only turned it in when it was totaled in an accident. My 2014 is one of the greatest touring cars in the world... PERIOD. I've owned Mercedes' (coupe), BMW's (735), Porches (911), Corvette's, etc. and NONE of them provides the driving pleasure of my Jag's AND ever since Ford took over and now Tata Motors, the reliability of my Jag's are rock solid. So keep that old reliability rap going. It will only allow me to once again get my next Jag at a reasonable price.

BEST CAR I'VE OWNED!!!! BUY ONESad knowing they stopped production and went to the F-Type which is more like the sky. Perspective, I've owned 2 new BMW's, GST Spyder, Infinity, Nissans, Mopars,= (Challengers) 5.O Stang, Jeeps. THIS IS BY FAR, the best car I've owned. If you are on the fence get one now before they become extinct. I purchased a 2013 w/less than 20K XK Touring Coupe, never liked the spine look of the Convertible top (except on an Aston DB9 or M60. I cannot find a purpose for any HP over 400, unless you track it all the time. Realistically, you can't use the power except in very rare spots. So I found the fit of the cabin to be perfect, the 2 + 2 is actually hilarious and a good conversation piece, just invite a friend over 3 feet tall to try and sit back there. The Jag rumble from the exhaust is exhilarating to say the least, even at 2500 rpms, then full throttle blows the mind. Tight suspension, steering, and response. Jag got the 3rd gen of this car right for sure. All the features you want come standard. I cannot say enough about the look, slim, slammed, sleek, the body lines are pure art. Gas mileage might be an issue, but if you can't spring for the high ox fuel then you might want to skip any performance car. So basically if you want a very well built, fast, and beautiful car get one. Just bury the though of gasoline all together so you can enjoy the ride. Another small note, the information system is very slow in response, but why be in a hurry? you're in a jag.

Jaguar, There is None Finer!!!Bought a 2014 Jaguar XKR Convertible new in July of 2015. Traded in my 2013 Jaguar XK touring Convertible for it. I have to say this was one of the best things I have ever done. Loved the 2013 XK. It was the touring model which meant very little as only a few options were missing. It was smooth with a soft ride and when driven, I thought I was riding in a Jaguar sedan. It had the same 5.0L engine as the XKR, but was normally aspirated and put out 385 hp. The car was a blast, but I saw the XKR and desired more power. Looking on Cars.com one night, I found one that I loved in the pictures and the next morning I went to see it. It was love at first sight!!! Once I drove the car I knew I was taking it home with me!!! The power is incredible and smooth!!! The ride is a little harder than my previous touring, but this is more of a performance car. The car moves effortlessly!! I have had it 150mph and the car felt just as stable as at 55mph!!! The handling is really good, but has to be respected! When cornering hard and applying power, it must be done smoothly or the rear end will kick out and try to come around. Once this is known, the car can be driven precisely. The quality of the car build is wonderful!!! suede and leather are everywhere!! I have the standard seats that have all sorts of adjustments. the seats are heated and ventilated. The steering wheel is also. The headlights move with you as you turn, takes some time to get used to. The technology is good. The Bluetooth is for phone only, but I bought a tune-2-air bluetoothe adapter and can now stream my music through the system without issue!! I have taken this car on a few road trips and was not tired when I got there. Only thing about this car is gas mileage. On the highway I get 20 mpg and around town 17 mpg. Do not believe the professional reviews of this car being long in tooth or not as good as Porsche. Go see for yourself!!! I have had many 911 Porsches and to get the luxury and performance from a 911 to compare you will spend more money!! The ride of this car versus a 911 is not comparable. I have driven the XK 5hours and felt good!! after 1 hour in the 911 I have to get out!!! I am 6'3" and
