The Good
The 2008 CL-Class boasts impressive performance with powerful engine options. Its luxurious interior and comfortable ride appeal to those seeking a refined experience. The striking design provides a sophisticated aesthetic. While not exceptionally efficient, the value proposition lies in its prestige and features. Its advanced safety features also appeal to practical buyers.
The Bad
Potential weaknesses include high maintenance costs and complex electronics that can be prone to failure. The air suspension system (Airmatic) is a known trouble spot and can be expensive to repair. Fuel economy is not a strong suit, especially in the AMG models. Prospective buyers should also be aware of potential issues with the ABC (Active Body Control) suspension.

What Problems Does the 2008 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class Have?
How long will the 2008 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Euro NCAP crash test data may be available; however, IIHS and NHTSA data for this specific model year may be limited. Generally, Mercedes-Benz vehicles of this era had strong safety reputations. The CL-Class included features like Pre-Safe, which prepares the vehicle for a potential collision by tightening seatbelts, adjusting seats, and closing windows. Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist were also available as optional features, further enhancing safety. The advanced technology and safety features make the 2008 CL-Class a desirable vehicle, despite its age.

How Does the 2008 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class Compare to Other Passenger Sedan?
Alternatives to the 2008 CL-Class include a newer BMW 6 Series (for improved reliability), a Lexus SC 430 (for bulletproof reliability, but less sporty), or even a well-maintained Mercedes-Benz S-Class coupe from a similar era (for similar luxury with potentially fewer electronic gremlins). If performance is paramount and budget is less of a concern, a newer, lower-mileage CL-Class might be considered, but thorough inspection and a robust maintenance budget are essential. For buyers prioritizing reliability and lower running costs, the Lexus SC 430 represents a more sensible alternative, albeit with a less aggressive driving experience.

Fantastic CarsLucky enough to own both the 08 Cl63amg and CL600 V12. Both astounding! Fascinating comparison btwn the two; the 63 being aggressive, imposing, sexy loud, AMG seats etc while the 600 is ultra refined, sumptuous, super smooth and quiet, both fantastic realibility and jaw-dropping performance. Unbelievable value if you find one low miles used. How else can you drive a $175,000 car for $30k in as-new condition? No better car was ever made. Tip: forget about the 500 or 550- go 63 or better.

Great CarI have driven almost every high end car from Jag, Masarati, BMW, Audi, Benz, Porsche, etc and this car is as good as any of them. I bought the 12 cylinder CL600 Coupe. It’s a luxurious beast with serious power yet it is refined. I just bought so can’t comment on reliability but it was one of the most expensive production cars when new so I don’t expect repairs to be cheap. But I bought one that was low miles and well maintained and I’m thrilled. It’s incredible on the highway. Zero to 100 is real quick yet smooth as silk, and it is a gorgeous car

One of the best from BenzThis is one of those cars that is just timeless. Two door coupe with tons of performance and comfort. Solidly built. Stands out on the road. A true luxury beast. They don't make many cars like this anymore. It is a true performance and styling statement for the discerning driver. No corners were cut. Hard to find a car like this these days.
