What Problems Does the 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Have?
How long will the 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Safety features included front airbags and seatbelts. Side airbags were available as an option on some trims. There were no advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like lane departure warning or automatic emergency braking available on this model.
Crash test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) varied depending on the specific test. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) ratings should be checked for specific details, but generally, the Lancer performed adequately for its class. However, it's important to remember that safety standards have evolved significantly since 2006. Keep in mind the Lancer is missing modern safety tech, which is available in newer vehicles. Optional features like ABS and side airbags were considered upgrades at the time. Overall, the 2006 Lancer offers a rudimentary set of tech and safety features compared to modern vehicles.

How Does the 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Compare to Other Wagon?
Alternatives to consider include the Honda Civic (known for its reliability and fuel efficiency), Toyota Corolla (renowned for its long-term dependability), and Mazda3 (offers a more engaging driving experience). The Ford Focus provides a similar driving feel but may suffer from similar reliability concerns. If reliability and fuel efficiency are top priorities, the Civic or Corolla are better choices. If sporty handling is desired, the Mazda3 is a strong contender. The Lancer is a decent choice if affordability is paramount and you're willing to accept some compromises in features and long-term reliability.

Final Verdict: Is the 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer a Good Wagon?

One of my best decisions.Bought one 4 years ago, very reliable. Not over-computerized, the only "smart" feature is the ABS, therefore you can enjoy the real driving. Exceptional steering capabilities, replace parts are not expensive. However I am the 3rd owner, the manufacturer reached me via the government for a recall which I highly appreciate.

Not My First ChoiceI needed a car to drive to work ar night. Eventually, I ended up drivivg TX to OH, and had no problems along the way. This was not my first choice or even the second. It was all I could afford when I purchased it, used in 2010. It is comfortable, reliable, and great on gas. I don't even remember what my first choices were, but am delighted to this day, that my Baby never fails me, even now in 2020.

A real bullet-proof reliability. Low maintenance aI bought this car used a couple of years ago. It is a 2006 Ralliart with 5 speeds manual. The car now has 165K miles on it. It is funs, fast, and reliable. Its exterior design is still looking good after 13 yrs. I would not trade it in for a newer corolla or a civic with 5 years newer. Fuel economy is relatively low at 27-28mpg highway and 22-23mpg local. Everything about this Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart is perfectly designed at least to the eyes of the beholder.

Still works great after 179KI bought a second Mitsubishi Lancer to update my old one. I was so happy with this car that I wanted to continue owning one. I still own my 2006 only because it woks so good compared to its market value. I could never buy another car in such great condition for what I can get from it if I sell it... Still runs great even at 179 K.

A sweet and fun little car that I enjoy driving! This is the second Mitsubishi I bought in my life. The first was an Eclipse, and I absolutely loved that car! Forward years later...I just purchased a used '06 Mitsubishi Lancer. My Mitsubishi Lancer is so sweet and unassuming, but when I push the gas pedal she just GOES! It make me chuckle every time I drive because you just do not expect that from a little car like this--hence the sweet/ fun personality I feel this car has! This is definitely an economy car (not a bad thing at all), but I feel I have some style and substance when I drive it to work or around town. A tight ride. So proud of my little '06 Mitsubishi Lancer that gives me the connection and satisfaction we all want to feel when driving a beloved vehicle!

Great carThis is a great car. I bought one of these brand new back in 2006 as my first car. It was a reliable vehicle. I averaged about 32-32 mpg (that's over 300 miles on a $20 tank of fuel!!) It is very comfortable, and roomy. My only complaint is the suspension. This vehicle has a fair amount of body roll, it tend to feel like its floating on the road. I put about 320,000 miles on this vehicle before the transmission gave out. I had my first car for over 10 years! Never gace me a problem. It was hard to say goodbye. Just keep the oil, spark plugs, and timing belt changed and this car will treat you well.

Fabulous FourthI was very excited to drive home my new 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer. I was surprised how much get up and go it has. The Interior is in perfect shape, like it just came out of the dealership for the first time. This car is just right for me.

Great carI bought my Lancer SE new in 2006 and it was a great buy. At 71,000 miles I have replaced tires, brakes, windshield wipers, and one headlight bulb, other than that it has seen only regular maintenance. Absolutely the best car I've ever owned (I had a 1993 Honda Civic which was the previous
