My new/used M2I wanted to go back to BMW when my Audi S4 rolled over 100k miles. I wasn't sure I wanted an M3, but the 340i just didn't have the handling and performance I wanted. Then I drove the M2 and was sold. It handles like my old 330i Performance Package car and is screaming fast to boot. Very satisfied. But, the little things are already starting to pop up. Driver's side seat belt doesn't retract. It seems like there is always something with the Bimmers.
