What Problems Does the 2013 Chevrolet Spark Have?
Recalls for the 2013 Spark included issues related to potential rollaway risk due to a faulty shift lever. There were also recalls related to hood latch issues that could cause the hood to open unexpectedly while driving.
Long-term reliability concerns often center around the longevity of the engine and transmission, especially with consistent city driving. How Does the 2013 Chevrolet Spark Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle 4-Window; Hatchback?
Reliability can be a concern with the Spark, with some owners reporting transmission and engine issues. The Kia Rio generally has a better reputation for reliability. In terms of price, the Spark was often one of the most affordable options.
Alternatives to the 2013 Spark include the Kia Rio, which offers better reliability and more features for a slightly higher price. The Honda Fit, while slightly larger and more expensive, provides significantly more cargo space and a more refined driving experience. If fuel efficiency is the primary concern, the Mitsubishi Mirage might be a suitable alternative, though it lacks performance.

Bought it new.Bought it new. Taken several road trips with and no problems ever. I still own and drive it . Love the gas milage. I get 32 mpg around my town and upto 40mpg on open road. Cargo space is tricky. Only drawback is back seats will not flatten in order to extend cargo space.

Great car, obviously low performance for ~84 HP.Personally, I would recommend this car. I'm big on expensive sound systems, so stock was obviously not a choice for me. But unfortunately the speaker locations are a bit weird and not suitable, but I made it work. It's so easy to do things with the car, and maintenance is easy.

Most reliable car I have owned.I just got brand new tires for it today, new oil change, also was checked out by my mechanic and everything is good to go for it to be sold to its potential new owner. This car has been nothing but good to me since I have gotten it.

A Sassy Lime Green CarI "upgraded" to the Spark after my SUV was totaled in an accident. This car is fun to drive and gets the job done with little to no frills (which is fine with me). I've owned my Spark since 2014 and have had no problems with it functioning thus far. There is no CD player or USB outlets but there is an AUX hookup so I can listen to music from my iPhone while driving. Everyone is amazed at the legroom in the car since it looks amusingly small from the outside. Plenty of trunk space for my needs and great on gas!

Best first carI drive this to college and it is very reliable. However, hot days can take a toll on the engine so try to run the heater on hot days to keep the engine cooler.
