The Good
The 2015 WRX offers thrilling performance thanks to its turbocharged engine and AWD system, appealing to driving enthusiasts. Its relative reliability (with proper maintenance) and practicality as a daily driver make it a smart choice. The design is aggressive and sporty, while decent fuel economy and strong resale value add to its appeal for practical buyers.
The Bad
Potential weaknesses of the 2015 WRX include reports of engine issues like oil consumption and potential for rod knock, particularly in modified vehicles. The interior, while functional, isn't the most luxurious. The ride can be stiff, and the infotainment system is dated. Rust can also be an issue in colder climates. Thorough inspection is crucial.

What Problems Does the 2015 Subaru WRX Have?
Recalls for the 2015 WRX have included concerns about the fuel pump and potential engine stalling. Check the NHTSA website for specific recall information and whether the VIN of a prospective purchase has been affected and resolved.
Long-term reliability can be a concern if maintenance is neglected. The WRX's performance-oriented nature means it can be more susceptible to wear and tear if driven aggressively. Rust, especially in areas with road salt, can also be a long-term concern. Regular maintenance, including oil changes and inspections, is crucial to mitigate potential issues.

How Does the 2015 Subaru WRX Compare to Other Sedan?
Feature-wise, the WRX's interior and tech are generally less refined than the GTI. Reliability is a mixed bag; the WRX can be reliable with proper maintenance, but engine issues are a concern. The GTI is generally considered more reliable. Price-wise, the WRX is typically competitive.
Alternatives: The VW GTI offers a more refined interior and generally better reliability, but lacks AWD. The Ford Focus ST provides similar performance but is FWD only. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (used) offers superior performance, but at the cost of higher maintenance and potentially lower reliability. A newer Honda Civic Si could also be considered for a blend of performance and practicality.

First Subaru I've had, not going to be the last onFun, fast and fuel friendly (when not applying the first 2 adjectives :)) I have owned 3 Civic SIs before this WRX. Take the SIs + more power and AWD and you have a WRX for roughly the same price. Reliability> I put it a few ticks below the Honda (I don't see these going 200,000 + problem free miles as my previous Hondas), but I would still consider it reliable. Easy to maintain with the oil filter right on top. Looking forward to owning another Subi down the road.

Best Purchase EverI've owned my WRX for a year now and not only is it practical if you need it to be but it is also extremely fun. The value on Subarus only goes up and the safety and reliability give an amazing peace of mind. Any Subaru is worth a test drive at least and you'll see how awesome they are.
