I bought my 4-door Yaris hatchback new (to replace a 14-year-old Tacoma my senior dog could no longer get into) and it has been a reliable daily driver for the past thirteen years. I live in Atlanta and commute about a half hour to and from work five days a week. I make occasional treks to the mountains with my dog to hike and go to Michigan once a year, but the vast majority of the time, I'm driving around potholes and idiots in the city. I love being able to fit into the smallest parking spaces. My gas mileage is a little lower than advertised (I'm getting about 26 mpg in the city), but that's likely the result of idling at red lights. It does better on the highway. The car handles nicely, runs quietly and hasn't given me a moment of grief. The windshield wiper motor did have to be replaced as a result of tree debris falling into the oddly open spaces where the arms are mounted. Oh, and changing the headlights is a misery! I miss the days when all one had to do was pop off a plastic cover and swap out the bulb. Once I learned I'd have to remove the bumper, I let the dealer handle it. And even the dealer wasn't thrilled because the old bulb had melted some of the wiring. All things considered, though, I love the car. Hoping to get at least twenty years out of it.

I love my Toyota Yaris hatchback. It's the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. I have at time 220,000 miles on it. The only thing I've had to repair was a right wheel bearing. I get regular oil changes and never delay it at 3,000 miles and change the air filter. Best car I have owned. I plan to get another 100,000 miles if Brandon doesn't ban oil and gas vehicles. The 1010 Yaris is your bargain basic "Yugoesque" city runner. No frills, no comforts not even a usable drink holder and way too small for even a 5'7" person like me. Not well thought out, poorly designed and a leave at home car when the roads are wet or icy. Absolute zero performance to the level of borderline dangerous. the worst handling small car I've ever driven in my almost 50 years of driving. Would not be survivable in an accident and definitely could never go 600,000 miles as one paid reviewer fallaciously claimed. Remember your science lessons, that is impossible. It's pretty much a crappy car by the 150,000 mile mark, it's all used up! Current actual value of this car is honestly $1,500 and not a penny more.

Almost 300K miles and has never needed a major repair. Fits 5 people well. Amazing gas mileage. Would be a great used car for a first time driver or someone who lives in the city.

I put over 630,000 miles on mine before it got totaled by another car in accident. That Toyota 4 Banger is a durable engine if you just do the regular maintenance on it. Even over 600,000 miles the engine still had no leaks and was running like new. So I just bought a 2018 and plan on trying to break the million mile mark this time. Great car and it gets pretty good gas mileage around 34 miles per gallon. i strongly recommend.

It's an ok car. I'm 6 foot tall. And I'm not very comfortable in any of the seats. Cars not that fast. Fits in small spaces well

It's a basic, cheap, commuter car with good mileage. The engine runs smoothly with the power output you'd expect out of a sub-compact car. There almost never any issues, and the reliable Toyota name carries through here. The sound system is better than expected and the rear windshield wiper is nice to have.

Yeah, I really did...Earlier this year I picked up this Yaris - it was a 2010 with 12,100 miles on it. 2 dr Hatch Auto. I commute 22,000 miles a year so reliability and cost effective utility was essential . This car cut my monthly spend on gas by over 25% and I gave up very little in the way of creature comforts. MPG is a CONSISTENT 36 at a minimum . if I nurse it along just right, I can reach 38.7. A snap to do oil changes . Although the MB was a beautiful car, this little guy is wonderfully right at this point in my life for my needs, purpose and pocketbook.

Economical, very reliable, relatively safe, (for the money) 2010 w/125,000 miles and original brake pads. Too bad they now only sell a hatchback in the US. Bought several Toyotas since 1990, all the lowest priced ones, will probably get a Camry next time if I don't go for some other brand with a higher safety rating.
