The Good
The 2003 CLK offers a compelling blend of luxury and performance. It boasts a comfortable and refined ride appealing to practical buyers seeking reliability and safety. Emotionally, the CLK provides a stylish design and the prestige of the Mercedes-Benz brand, delivering an enjoyable and confident driving experience, particularly with the more powerful V8 engine.
The Bad

What Problems Does the 2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class Have?
Specific recalls for the 2003 model year should be checked with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) using the vehicle identification number (VIN). However, recalls can occur for issues like fuel leaks or airbag malfunctions. Long-term reliability concerns revolve around the cost of maintaining a luxury vehicle. Parts can be expensive, and specialized knowledge may be required for repairs. Over time, rubber components such as hoses and seals can deteriorate, leading to leaks. Early W209 models (2003-2004) may experience more electrical glitches compared to later years.
How long will the 2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features were relatively limited compared to modern cars. Standard safety features included anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic stability control (ESP), and traction control. Front and side airbags were also standard. Optional safety features might have included rain-sensing wipers and park assist.
Crash-test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) should be consulted for a complete picture of the vehicle's safety performance. While specific ratings should be verified, the CLK generally performed well in crash tests for its era, reflecting Mercedes-Benz's emphasis on safety. Check NHTSA and IIHS websites for precise ratings.

How Does the 2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class Compare to Other Convertible?
Reliability is where the CLK can fall short compared to the Lexus. The Lexus SC430 is generally considered more reliable, while the BMW 3 Series can have its own set of issues. Price-wise, used CLKs are generally comparable to or slightly more affordable than similar-condition BMWs and Lexus models.
Alternatives to the CLK include the BMW 3 Series (E46) for a sportier driving experience (but potentially lower reliability), or the Lexus SC430 for greater reliability and a comfortable ride (but less sporty handling). A newer, more reliable coupe or convertible from a non-luxury brand might also be a better choice for budget-conscious buyers. Consider a newer BMW 4 Series or Audi A5 for a more modern and reliable experience, albeit at a higher price point.

Only if u have $$$$$This car is a money pit Donโt get this car Unless you have a lot of money to blow I donโt know why am even putting this review because itโs kind of pointless because youโre gonna have to see for yourself when you start being mad because of every other Mercedes dealership youโre going to get to know personally

Convertible CLK430The Mercedes CLK 430 Cab is one enjoyable experience that I wish other could experience. The car with the V8 has enough power and features to be enjoyable throughout the year. Maintenance is easy for a DIY, and if you limit your visits to the dealership the cost of upkeep is reasonable.

Classic Beauty, What a pleasure to drive? My first CLK was a 2001 320 hardtop, which was the first time a personally owned a Mercedes. Unless you actually own one you really never get to really appreciate the collective profound effect of the thoughtfulness towards , your safety, comfort and supreme driving experience that goes into the design and production of these automobiles. This is true especially when compared to "regular cars". I lost my first one in an accident, but while I had two other cars, an Audi Convertible and a Volvo, my heart was only content when I was very fortunate to find a 2003 CLK 430 convertible , in pristine condition and on 30K miles. You can imagine the joy. These cars have powerful engines that deliver performance on demand. The braking is excellent. The ride is smooth, but it is what the cabin and lovely seats dot you that is beyond mention. The exterior design is a head turner, quite something for a 20 year old inspiration. If you are lucky to find one of these babes in good condition, GET IT. You will Love It.

Great people to work with!I just purchased a great Mercedes from these guys and feel very comfortable writing this stellar review about them. They were courteous, reasonable, honest and helped give me the time and consideration to make a thorough inspection of the vehicle and and made sure every detail of my concerns was taken care of. I am very happy with this dealership and thier sales people. It is rare in my 40 years of driving and buying cars to get lucky enough to run into human beings with such class! And I got a great car for a reasonable price!

Most Amazing Car for the MoneyUn.Freakin.Believable. This thing is a 100% German muscle car. I mean seriously - 5.5L Euro V8, signed by the engineer who hand built the motor. Respect. I searched up and down and nearly bought a Maserati Coupe. Very glad I went with Germany instead of Italy. With 3 kids I still need a 4 seater and I don't think they get any cooler for the money. Pure awesome.
