What Problems Does the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid Have?

The 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid generally enjoys strong reliability ratings. However, some owners have reported issues with the infotainment system, including slow response times, glitches with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and occasional screen freezes. There have been instances of battery drain issues reported, though these are not widespread. Additionally, some users have mentioned concerns about the continuously variable transmission (CVT) and its long-term durability, though no major recalls have specifically targeted the 2022 model's CVT.

Recalls for the 2022 Accord Hybrid have been relatively limited. It's crucial to check the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website for the most up-to-date recall information using the VIN.

Long-term reliability concerns mostly revolve around the hybrid battery pack. While Honda's hybrid systems are generally robust, battery degradation can occur over time, leading to reduced fuel economy and performance. The cost of replacing the hybrid battery pack can be significant, so it's important to factor this into long-term ownership costs. Regular maintenance, including timely oil changes and adherence to Honda's recommended service schedule, is crucial for maximizing the Accord Hybrid's lifespan and minimizing potential problems. Some owners have also reported minor issues with the paint quality, particularly with certain colors, which could lead to premature wear or chipping.

How long will the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid last?

With regular maintenance, the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid can easily reach 200,000 miles or more. Many owners report achieving 10-15 years of service. Key to longevity is adherence to Honda's maintenance schedule, including timely oil changes, fluid flushes, and hybrid system checks. Long-term durability relies heavily on battery health; degradation can impact fuel economy and performance. Watch for potential infotainment system issues as the car ages and ensure proper CVT maintenance.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

The 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid boasts a solid array of technology and safety features. Standard is an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Higher trims offer wireless smartphone charging and a premium audio system.

Honda Sensing, a suite of driver-assistance features, is standard across all trims and includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Collision Mitigation Braking System. Blind-spot monitoring is available on higher trims.

Safety features include multiple airbags, anti-lock brakes, and stability control. Optional features include a head-up display (Touring trim) and parking sensors.

Crash-test ratings are generally excellent. The 2022 Accord Hybrid typically receives high marks from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) and NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), often earning a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS. These ratings are based on evaluations of crashworthiness and the effectiveness of its safety systems. It is always recommended to consult official sources like IIHS and NHTSA for the most accurate and up-to-date safety information.

reasonable repair costs.

How Does the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid Compare to Other Sedan?

The 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid competes with the Toyota Camry Hybrid, Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, and Ford Fusion Hybrid (though the Fusion is discontinued after 2020). The Camry Hybrid is a strong competitor, offering similar reliability and fuel economy, but the Accord often edges it out in terms of driving dynamics and interior design. The Sonata Hybrid is a more stylish option with a longer warranty, but the Accord has a better reputation for long-term reliability.

Compared to the now-discontinued Fusion Hybrid, the Accord Hybrid offers a more modern interior and better fuel economy. In terms of performance, all these hybrids offer adequate acceleration for daily driving. Feature-wise, they are all similarly equipped, although the Accord often has a slight edge in terms of standard safety features.

Price-wise, they are all competitive. If reliability is your top priority, the Accord Hybrid and Camry Hybrid are excellent choices. If you prioritize style and a longer warranty, the Sonata Hybrid is worth considering. A potential alternative within Honda's lineup could be the CR-V Hybrid, offering similar hybrid efficiency in a more versatile SUV body style. However, the Accord Hybrid remains a compelling choice for those prioritizing a mid-size sedan with excellent fuel economy and a reputation for dependability.

I bought my hybrid accord brand new.

I bought my hybrid accord brand new. I got 100K miles now and not a single problem and I'm getting 47mpg. I work for a dealership and out of every sedan it's size nothing feels better to drive.

LOVE IT!

I previously drove a 2019 Honda Insight which I LOVED! My husband bought me the 2022 Accord Sport Hybrid. I was skeptical...but after driving the Accord for a few weeks I absolutely LOVE this car more than my Insight. I get 50 mpg in the city, the car turns heads, performs like a sports car (ok, it's not a Porsche). All in all, for the money, this is one AWESOME car!

Ideal car for the highway

I have the touring model, so it is as tripped out as it gets, however, it is not a "Luxury" car so if that is important to you try the Acura. I was able to drive from NY to South Dakota in 18 hours in this car because of the key features. Adaptive cruise control -- never get another car without this. Lane assist -- really helpful on the freeway. Side mirror warning system -- this will certainly pay for itself. I have to get the sunroof because I have two dogs and on a hot day if the roof is open the car can't get too hot.

Redlands, ca

I have the touring edition so all the bells and whistles. Love the leather wrapped steering wheel and the ventilated seats. Heads up display is cool and how many different options you have. The wireless phone charger doesn't like to charge my IPhone 11 mini but worked fine with a bigger phone. I have the Sonic gray exterior and get compliments everywhere I go. Fun car to drive - sports mode really has some oomph!!

Worth it still

Happy with my Accord Hybrid E-XL purchase however you will find small things that Honda did to save $$$.. First of all for my first 1000 miles I have averaged 36.5 miles per gallon (no where near the 44/47 mpg shown) and I'm not a peddle to the metal type of guy, the steering wheel is manual up/down or in/out (on a 35k vehicle??), vehicle should offer more than it does on this level, touring model didn't make sense to me but E-XL did

2022 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport is superb!

Our Cadillac was starting to give us problems, and so we decided to go car shopping. Did our research on many different hybrids out there in the market, and we decided to give Honda a try. Honda vehicles are good about retaining their resale value, and Honda stands behind quality and durability. After research and test drive, we went with the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport. It's a very quiet ride. Great on gas! Very comfortable in driving and/or riding. Plenty of leg room! The price of the car is great considering it's about average for similar hybrid sedans. The safety features are what really convinced us in purchasing our Honda. As for performance and speed, if you are driving on an open road, you better use cruise control because before you know it, you will be going 90. Very smooth ride! Handles the road perfect!

Honda Accord Hybrid EXL

My lease for my Vehicle was up and after driving SUV's for several years I decided I wanted a classy but sporty looking sedan. At the same time I wanted something good on gas's that had all the bells and whistles and safety features I was used to. I wasn't looking for a Honda as I mistakenly thought German cars had a smoother and more luxurious ride. From the moment I got into the Honda Accord EXL Hybrid I knew I had found the vehicle for me. I can drive over 500 miles on one tank of gas, she has every safety feature with the exception of the top view camera, she is quiet, comfortable and can go from zero to seventy without you even realizing it.

Love our Accord

We've only owned our Accord for a month, but what a delight. We loved our 2014 Prius, but our Accord won't take long to supplant it. It is one sharp looking, awesome responding, safety first, Honda. What more could you ask for?
