The Good
The 2021 Honda Insight offers excellent fuel efficiency, a comfortable and quiet ride, and Honda's renowned reliability. Its sleek design and well-appointed interior appeal to emotional buyers, while practical buyers appreciate the long-term value, low running costs, and available safety features. The hybrid powertrain delivers adequate performance for daily driving.
The Bad
The 2021 Honda Insight's weaknesses include slightly underwhelming acceleration compared to some competitors. The infotainment system, while functional, can feel a bit dated. Taller passengers may find the rear headroom limited. Also, be mindful of potential battery degradation over time, though this is generally rare with proper maintenance. Check for any unusual noises from the hybrid system during test drives.

What Problems Does the 2021 Honda Insight Have?
Recalls for the 2021 model year have been relatively limited, but it's always recommended to check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for the most up-to-date recall information.
Long-term reliability concerns primarily revolve around the hybrid battery. While Honda's hybrid systems are typically durable, battery degradation is a natural process. Factors like driving habits, climate, and maintenance can impact battery life. Regular maintenance, including timely oil changes and adhering to Honda's recommended service schedule, is crucial for maximizing the longevity of the hybrid system. Some owners have also reported premature wear of brake components due to the regenerative braking system, which can lead to increased brake noise. Checking the condition of the brakes during routine maintenance is important.

How Does the 2021 Honda Insight Compare to Other Sedan?
In terms of reliability, the Insight holds its own, benefiting from Honda's reputation. However, the Prius is often cited as a benchmark for hybrid reliability. Regarding features, the Insight offers a well-rounded package, especially in the EX and Touring trims, with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
A similar alternative to the Insight is the Toyota Corolla Hybrid, which offers comparable fuel economy and reliability at a similar price point. If cargo space is a priority, the Kia Niro might be a better choice, but if a more conventional sedan experience with a touch of refinement is desired, the Insight remains a strong contender.

So happyI had never heard of the Honda Insight, but due to a change in job location, I have a longer commute...unfortunately, the price of gas has increased and I felt the mpg of my current vehicle wouldn't make sense so I went into a local dealer and I was introduced to a Honda Insight...great mpg and value

A great bargain.I love this car. All the tech is very helpful and intuitive. MPG is the main reason I bought it and it doesn't disappoint. Plus, it's a nice-looking car.

My new blue hybrid InsightLove it! It meets needs for safety feature, comfort and quiet ride! Eco mode was no problem on I-95 corridor. Easy transition form 2012 Accord

So far so good!Bought the car about the month ago and, considering that the previous car I owned for 5 years was a Prius, I have something to compare to, especially in relation to a hybrid system. Insight beats Prius not only there, but also everywhere else: interior and exterior design including. So far I like everything about the car.
