The Good
The 2002 Honda Insight's major advantage is its incredible fuel efficiency, appealing to practical buyers. Its unique, aerodynamic design and status as an early hybrid offer emotional appeal for eco-conscious drivers. The Insight is generally reliable, known for its longevity when properly maintained. Performance is modest but adequate for city driving. Value is high due to low running costs.

Known weaknesses of the 2002 Honda Insight include its limited passenger and cargo space due to its small size. The Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) battery can degrade over time, requiring expensive replacement. The regenerative braking system can feel unusual. Rust can be a problem, especially in areas with harsh winters. The car's lightweight construction also affects ride comfort.

Final Verdict: Is the 2002 Honda Insight a Good Hatchback?

Most economical car i have ever owned.50 mpg is a pretty good selling feature. With a battery charger and Honda maintenance manual is worth 2600 dollars and a spare tire and Honda tool kit.

Insight Rocks! My 2002 Insight is everything I wanted. Comfortable, economical, gets lots of looks from the pretty girls! What more could you ask for? With 2 seats and a 3 cylinders it has all of the utility of a sports car and none of the performance! π
