The Good
The 2008 Armada boasts strong V8 performance and a comfortable, spacious cabin, appealing to those seeking power and practicality. Its rugged design evokes a sense of adventure. While not fuel-efficient, its reliability and towing capacity offer long-term value for buyers needing a capable family SUV. The powerful engine delivers confident acceleration and towing performance.

Analysis
What Problems Does the 2008 Nissan Armada Have?
Brake issues, such as premature wear and ABS sensor failures, are also relatively common. Some owners have reported problems with the exhaust manifolds cracking, leading to noisy engine operation. Rust can be a significant concern, especially in regions with harsh winters or coastal environments. Check carefully for rust on the undercarriage, body panels, and around the wheel wells.
Recalls for the 2008 Armada have included issues related to the fuel filler tube and potential problems with the passenger-side airbag. Always check the vehicle's VIN with the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) to ensure all applicable recalls have been addressed. Long-term, keeping an eye on the cooling system is important, as overheating can lead to more significant engine damage. Regular fluid changes and maintenance are critical to prolonging the life of the Armada.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features were limited compared to modern vehicles, but it did offer features like cruise control and available parking sensors. Safety features included anti-lock brakes (ABS), stability control, and front and side airbags. Optional safety features included side curtain airbags for all three rows.
Crash test ratings from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) showed mixed results. While it generally performed well in frontal crash tests, side-impact protection was rated lower. The IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) ratings may vary, so it's crucial to research specific ratings for the 2008 model year.
Optional tech features included a navigation system, though it was dated compared to modern systems. Overall, the 2008 Armada focused more on spaciousness and towing capacity than cutting-edge technology. Buyers prioritized its utility and passenger space over advanced tech features available in newer vehicles. Reviewing specific crash test data for the model year is always recommended before purchasing.

How Does the 2008 Nissan Armada Compare to Other Wagon?
Reliability is a mixed bag. While the Armada can be reliable with proper maintenance, some rivals like the Toyota Sequoia have a stronger reputation for long-term dependability. Price-wise, a used Armada may be slightly more affordable than a Sequoia but potentially more expensive than a Tahoe or Expedition depending on condition and mileage.
Alternatives to consider include:
- Toyota Sequoia: A more reliable option with comparable features and towing capacity.
- Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon: More readily available and potentially cheaper, but fuel economy is similar.
- Ford Expedition: Offers similar capabilities and features, often at a competitive price.

Still Going Well After 200,000 miles On The ClockI've had this car for about 9 years. I love how comfortable and spacious it is. We take it on road trips every year, and the conditions are hot! The overhead console helps with it's adjustable air vents, fans and temp gage. In an earlier review I mentioned brake trouble. I have not have any further problems. I do get my brakes check whenever it is serviced. The dark red paint is still excellent. There is a small area of worn paint at the very back on the tailfin above the tail gate. Gas mileage bad. This is a great car.

Very Comfortable. Replaced Brakes TwiceI wanted a car that would still be comfortable after many hours of driving. This car is it. I prefer my Armada over any car I have previously owned. In the last couple of years I haven't been as happy due to safety. The thing that drives me crazy, and it is serious, is repeatedly needing the brakes replaced. The failure comes on suddenly, and can't be fixed quickly. If you want a safe car this might not be the one.
