The Good
The 2019 Nissan Kicks boasts excellent fuel efficiency, appealing to practical buyers. Its distinctive design and vibrant color options offer emotional appeal. While not a powerhouse, its adequate performance suits city driving. Its comfortable interior and user-friendly technology add to its value, making it a budget-friendly and stylish choice.
The Bad
The 2019 Nissan Kicks' weaknesses include its underpowered engine, which can struggle during highway merging and passing. All-wheel drive is not available. The rear drum brakes are a cost-cutting measure. Some may find the interior materials feel inexpensive. Watch out for potential CVT transmission issues, a common concern in Nissans.

What Problems Does the 2019 Nissan Kicks Have?
Regarding recalls, it's crucial to check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for the most up-to-date information, as recalls can be issued at any time. In general, keep an eye on recalls related to the engine, transmission, and safety systems. Long-term reliability concerns often center around the CVT transmission and the durability of some of the lower-quality interior materials. Preventative maintenance, particularly regular CVT fluid changes, is vital to mitigate potential transmission problems. Overall, while the Kicks is generally considered reliable, paying close attention to these potential issues is recommended for prospective buyers.

How Does the 2019 Nissan Kicks Compare to Other Hatchback?
Reliability is a mixed bag; the Kicks' CVT is a potential weak point compared to the more traditionally reliable HR-V. Price is where the Kicks truly shines, often being more affordable than most of its competitors.
Alternatives to consider: The Hyundai Kona offers better performance and a longer warranty. The Kia Soul provides more distinctive styling and a spacious interior. The Honda HR-V is known for its reliability and resale value, but it can be more expensive. If performance is a priority, the Kona or CX-3 are better choices. If budget and fuel economy are key, the Kicks is a solid option.

Kept getting check owner manual light after making aKept getting check owner manual light after making a steep turn or going down a sharp decline hill. After taking to dealership several times was told it was common anti lock brake system warning. Should NOT be common for this to keep happening it's very stressful and unreliable to say the least. FIX this issue under a recall NISSAN! Never buying another Nissan.

Do not recommend.I've had this car for 4 years. During this period I've had several malfunction lights turn on. They changed some parts but the problems persists. When the warranty expired they found that the problem was the EBS system so I had to pay. They also had to change the radio. I had to repair the a/c and now the paint is chipping.

Sadly a lemon, kicks 2023Normally, I would say, I love the Nissan but certainly not this one! Since the second day of ownership I have experienced delayed acceleration, which is most which is most stressful when proceeding onto an interstate highway, I have experienced issues with the brakes, but worst of all the vehicle unlocks itself when the lights or the dashboard or ignition lights go out on the auto. Sorry but I'm very disappointed this is a lemon!

I love my KicksI’m coming up in July on 2 years with my Kicks and I still love it. I have gotten so many people stopping me and asking me about this crossover. The only thing I wish was offered were the options on more expensive models like the push button hatch closing and AWD option. I took care of my moonroof problem and had dealer install one before I picked up the car from the showroom. The only negative is that I’m my SR model is that they made the doors and dash great but skimped on the door panels. Would of been nice to have that wrap around. I think I will keep this for quite awhile.

Best Car I've Ever OwnedThis car has everything I need. It's roomy and comfortable. Even though it's a 4 cyl. turbocharged engine, it has a lot of power. I also like the cargo cover that's removable.

This car was a “God Thingâ€.This car was made for me...when the sales man, Ken Linwood told me he had a car for me I had already found this car on Cars.com and was ready to ask to see it. It’s bigger and more comfortable than the Chevy I did have and lots more bells and whistles for less money.

Super Fun CarLove the exterior design, spacious interior, and great gas mileage. Also, Android Auto for music and maps from my phone is really nice. Only one draw back is no interior hatch release.
