The Good
The 2008 Xterra offers strong performance thanks to its powerful V6 engine, appealing to those seeking adventure. Its solid reliability provides peace of mind for practical buyers. The distinctive, rugged design gives it a unique personality. While not the most fuel-efficient, its value proposition makes it an attractive choice for budget-conscious adventurers.
The Bad
The 2008 Nissan Xterra's weaknesses include relatively poor fuel economy compared to more modern SUVs. The interior, while functional, can feel dated and plasticky. Some owners have reported issues with the automatic transmission cooler failing, potentially leading to transmission damage. Rust can also be a concern in colder climates, especially on the frame.

My most favorite vehicleHave a new Subaru Outback, but much prefer driving the xterra. Would own a new one, if still in production. Great feeling ride, never any major problems. Replaced a few recall items, but never left stranded anywhere!

One of my favorite cars I've ownedThis vehicle has never ever let me down. It has never had an expensive repair. It has never left me stranded. It is super stylish, and I get compliments on it constantly. It handles off road really well. I cannot recommend it enough.

Great car for high school and collegeI got this vehicle while I was in college. It was a wonderful vehicle for that time in my life. It is not a good car to put a car seat in because of the way the back doors are designed. Great vehicle overall!

Rugged, Dependable SUVRugged SUV that I have used off road, in snow, pulling my boat, carrying 2 kayaks, family, and dogs. Has never let me down. Stable in snow, absorbs road foods and potholes like a champ. Nothing luxurious about it. All business, the business of fun!

Very pleasing to the eyeThis Car really meet all of my needs. Iβm not really much of a tech guy in vehicles and this car was just for me and it is an SUV perfect for my person preference. Sitting high up in comfortable adjustable seats was a dream with that beefy 4.0 V6 under the hood I couldnβt ask for more
