The Good
The 2017 CX-3 offers a fun driving experience with responsive handling (emotional appeal). It's relatively fuel-efficient and offers a stylish, well-appointed interior for the price (practical appeal). While not the most spacious, it's generally reliable and offers good value as a daily driver and provides a degree of practicality typical of a small crossover SUV.
The Bad
The 2017 CX-3's rear seat and cargo space are limited compared to some rivals. The infotainment system can feel dated to some, and the engine, while adequate, isn't particularly powerful. Listen for any unusual noises from the automatic transmission. Check for proper functioning of all electronic features.

What Problems Does the 2017 Mazda CX-3 Have?
Regarding recalls, it's important to check the NHTSA website for the latest information, as recalls can be issued at any time. Common areas to check are for fuel pump failures which have affected later model years, and should be considered in pre-purchase inspections. Older model years are less likely to have active recalls still outstanding but checking is crucial. Long-term reliability concerns are relatively minimal, provided regular maintenance is performed. However, potential buyers should pay close attention to the transmission and electronic systems during a pre-purchase inspection.

How Does the 2017 Mazda CX-3 Compare to Other Wagon?
Regarding reliability, the CX-3 is generally on par with the HR-V. However, the Renegade has had some reliability concerns. In terms of features, the CX-3 offers a decent array of tech, but some rivals have more advanced infotainment systems. For price, the CX-3 is competitive. Alternatives to consider include the Honda HR-V if space is a priority, or a slightly used Mazda3 hatchback for similar driving dynamics with more practicality. The Hyundai Kona is a newer option that offers a blend of style, features, and value.

Good exterior design and interior designThis car met all my need. I lived in a compact city and I drive this car for commuting, so I don't need a big car. This car's size is perfect for this use, but might be too small for family use(the back seat and trunk is pretty small).

I Loved driving this carThis car was SOOO much fun to drive. It's quick and the Sport mode makes for fun driving even in the city. To small for a family and I Had a kid so I had to trade for a CX-5.

Love this carI honestly was surprised with me falling in love with this car. I’m a small girl who’s always wanted a little small sedan, but after test driving my Mazda it just fit me so well. It has amazing features and even better safety features and the build is so stylish. I just LOVE it

Great value for high safety ratingsThe Mazda CX-3 proved to be the best value for my daughter's first car. I did extensive research, and while this is a smaller SUV/crossover than some of the other SUV's I researched, it has amazing safety ratings (an IIHS top safety pick) and the gas mileage can't be beat (27 mpg city, 32 mpg highway). Since we were looking at used cars, we were able to get a significantly newer vehicle with far fewer miles on it than other smaller SUV's we were looking at while still being assured that our daughter would be safe when driving it.

Peppy little cartraded in my bigger SUV for this car to save on gas. It gets great fuel mileage for an awd vehicle, It's got good get up and go, mechanically sound and does pretty well in the snow. Downside is how very small it is, would not recommend for anyone with children. Other then the very limited space (also the cup holders are in an awful spot and not user friendly at all) but if you're looking for something small and cheap on fuel this car is perfect.
