The Good
The 2012 Galant offered a comfortable ride and a reputation for reliability, appealing to practical buyers. Its simple, functional design and spacious interior provided a sense of ease and usability. For those seeking an affordable and dependable sedan, the Galant presented a solid value proposition.
The Bad
The 2012 Galant's weaknesses include its dated design and less-than-stellar fuel economy compared to its competitors. The interior materials can feel cheap, and the engine lacks the punch of more modern rivals. Rust can be a concern in areas with harsh winters, so inspect thoroughly.

How long will the 2012 Mitsubishi Galant last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Crash-test ratings from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) and NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) can vary, but generally, the Galant received acceptable but not outstanding scores. It's recommended to check these agencies' websites for specific ratings for the 2012 model year. How Does the 2012 Mitsubishi Galant Compare to Other Vehicle?
In terms of features, the Galant lacks the advanced technology and safety features found in its competitors. Its interior design is dated, and the materials used are not as high-quality.
For similar alternatives at a similar price point, a slightly older Honda Accord or Toyota Camry might offer a better overall value. If budget is a major concern, a well-maintained Hyundai Sonata or Kia Optima from the same era could also be considered, although reliability might be a concern depending on the specific vehicle's history. Ultimately, while the Galant is affordable, its competitors offer a more well-rounded package.

My '12 Galant bought used in 2013 with 30k miles. My '12 Galant bought used in 2013 with 30k miles. The only thing she has needed in 11 years is tires an brakes . Runs like new. Now at 100k, dread the day I will have to replace her. Pros...awesome interior space for a small car (I am a big man and have plenty of driving comfort) Cons 20 mpg is weak for a 4 cylinder engine

This car can get up and go..Base model has standard wheels. Very poor in winter do to low clearance . tan interior not good with kids. Awesome engine for 4cyl. . lots of space. Drove to NY. Had room for car seat 2 adults in back . Trunk space for all the luggage and full size stroller. I have 195,000 miles engine purrs. Only thing. When cold out have to warm car. Car won't go in drive. Stability control is worthless. This car has been very good.. It would be the best if AWD 17 in wheels. Hands down.

Amazing Car for the MoneyI really wanted a Camry, but the Toyota Dealers in this area treated me like sh!+...so I waited till I ran across this car. It was a 2012 ex-rental unit with only 37,500 on it. That was two years ago. Since then I've put another 30,000 miles on it without a hint of problems. Yes I have a few plastic rattles in the interior, and occasionally I have to floor it in traffic---this is Texas afterall, and people drive at 85MPH vs. the posted 65. I love this car. I go out, I turn the key she starts---everytime. She is comfortable with a decent stereo and averages 25MPH in mixed traffic with A/C in constant use. Nothing but oil and air filter changes since day one. I hope to come back in two more years and leave another review with a list of things that needed to be done.----Best $8 K I've ever spent on a car.

Best car I?ve ever hadI bought my 2009 galant brand new and have put almost 225,000 miles on it so far. I just had a diagnosic test done to see if there are any issues with it before I give it to my sister, and it has no major issues after all these miles. I?ve only done oil changes, brakes, tires, and I did the AC system the whole ten years I?ve had the car. With a second timing belt it can easily go another 100k per the mechanic. I?m so happy to have owned this car and when I?m ready to buy again, it will be a Mitsubishi!

GalantIt's a really nice car for the price. It has a few dings, but that's to be expected of a used car. The inside is very nice! I wish the steering wheel was easier to adjust, but other than that it's perfect for my needs!
