The Good
The 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage shines with its outstanding fuel efficiency, appealing to practical buyers seeking cost savings. Its affordability and long warranty provide peace of mind. While not a performance vehicle, it's easy to maneuver in urban environments. The Mirage's compact size and surprisingly spacious interior can also emotionally appeal to those wanting practicality without feeling cramped.
The Bad
The 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage's weaknesses include its underpowered engine, resulting in slow acceleration. The interior materials are basic and the ride can be rough. Its handling is not as refined as some competitors. Potential buyers should be aware of these limitations and consider if they align with their driving needs and expectations. Test drive before you buy!

What Problems Does the 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage Have?
Recalls for the 2019 model year have been relatively limited, but it's always advisable to check the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website for any outstanding recalls related to your specific VIN. Long-term reliability concerns primarily revolve around the longevity of the CVT transmission and the potential for increased wear and tear due to the small engine working hard to maintain speed, especially under heavier loads or in hilly terrain. Preventative maintenance, such as regular fluid changes for the CVT, can help mitigate some of these risks. Overall, while not without its potential issues, the Mirage benefits from a long warranty, which can alleviate concerns about potential repairs within the warranty period. Regular maintenance and addressing any minor issues promptly are essential for ensuring long-term reliability.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features are limited, with no advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like automatic emergency braking or lane departure warning available. Safety features include standard anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and a suite of airbags. Optional features are limited primarily to aesthetic upgrades and accessories.
Crash-test ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) vary. The IIHS gave the 2019 Mirage mixed ratings, with some good scores in certain crash tests but marginal or poor ratings in others. NHTSA ratings are similar, with an overall rating that reflects its subcompact size and limited safety technology compared to newer vehicles. While it provides basic safety features, buyers should be aware that it lacks the advanced safety technologies found in many newer cars.

How Does the 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage Compare to Other Hatchback?
Price is where the Mirage stands out. It is typically one of the most affordable new cars on the market, giving it a distinct advantage for budget-conscious buyers. However, the Nissan Versa and Kia Rio offer a better balance of features, performance, and price, making them strong alternatives. The Chevrolet Spark is a similar option, focusing on affordability and city maneuverability, but also has its drawbacks in terms of space and power.
Depending on priorities, the Versa or Rio might be a better choice for those who value performance and features, even at a slightly higher price point. If outright affordability is the primary concern, the Mirage remains a viable option, but potential buyers should consider the compromises in other areas.

Great car!For my first car, it’s great and I love it. I’ve always wanted a car that wasn’t giant and making me uncomfortable. It’s extremely comfortable and the trunk space is amazing.

Not happyI feel the my car is in the shop alot. Winter time will not start right from day 1, They need to look in to their oil pump 2 times changed now. First time was first couple months, in there now again. Thank goodness for road side used a lot now. Changed battery a couple times but it was not the battery it’s the alternator. Not happy with my car. I will be calling to see if there is a recall on this pump.

2019 Mirage ESThe Mirage is very good at fulfilling its mission-inexpensive to buy, fuel and maintain. I have 60k miles on a 2019 Mirage and I haven’t had any problems. Great car to buy if you understand the Mirage’s role. I love my Mirage!

Economy exemplifiedI was looking for an economical vehicle and I found it in the 2019 Mirage GT. Heated seats and outside mirrors was nice .Short turning radius is a plus .Ease of parking appreciated. Best MPG cane in at 50 on the Hwy .Parting thought would you rather put fuel in your car or eat??

Piece of JunkMy current job is with Enterprise rent a car moving vehicles between branches. I have been driving since 1973. This car is by far worst piece of crap I have ever driven, and my first car was a Mustang ll ! This car is a loosely assembled bucket of bolts, a rolling coffin.

Dependable and affordableI drive 25,000 miles a year. This car helps me get my job done. It only costs me 3 cents a mile for gas, 1 cent per mile for oil changes, and 1 cent per mile for tires. One more penny per mile for cooling flushes and transmission flushes. Sovit's a money-making machine for me.

Gas milage is incredible! The car exceeds the EPA rating unless you are really hard on it. I’ve been averaging 45.5 mpg for the 4500 miles I’ve owned it so far. Mine is a G4 with a manual transmission. It does have some road noise and a Spartan interior. The radio is great though and after you consider Mitsubishi’s incentives, it’s usually the cheapest car on the market in spite of not having the lowest MSRP.

Most reliable car everLove my BRAND new 2019 mirage. EXCELLENT car ! Love driving it back and forth to work. Very comfortable. Drives REALLY nice as well. Better than my 2003 ford crown vic always breaking down.

It depends on youIt depends on what you need and want. This car gets great mileage, has good front seat head and leg room and gets the job done at a budget price. It has good safety ratings (4 out of 5 stars), which I find impressive for a sub compact. Power windows, keyless entry, back-up camera, blue-tooth, air conditioning, looks cute and other decent standard features. Yes, the engine is loud but it was never intended to be a luxury vehicle. It gets the job done on an economical price. Not everyone can afford to pay more at today's car prices.
