What Problems Does the 2014 Volkswagen GTI Have?
There have been recalls issued for the 2014 GTI, including those related to fuel delivery modules and potential electrical issues. What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features were less prevalent in 2014, but optional features included adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning. Standard safety features encompass anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and a full complement of airbags.
Crash-test ratings from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) are generally positive. The 2014 GTI received a "Top Safety Pick" rating, indicating good performance in crash tests. NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) ratings should also be consulted for a comprehensive assessment. The specific rating will vary depending on body style (2-door vs. 4-door). How Does the 2014 Volkswagen GTI Compare to Other Passenger Sedan?
Reliability-wise, the GTI can have issues, as noted before. The Civic Si and Mazda are typically considered more reliable. Price-wise, the GTI generally holds its value well, potentially making it slightly more expensive on the used market compared to some rivals.
Alternatives to consider: If reliability is a top priority, the Honda Civic Si. If raw performance is desired, a used Ford Focus ST or Subaru WRX might be better. For a similar blend of performance and refinement, the Mazda3 (though not as powerful as the GTI) is a strong contender.

2020 GTI Base Model Great CarThe driving is immaculate and very fun. I’m not a big car buff but this car made driving very enjoyable. The dashboard features were great and intuitive. The only weak part was the poor sound quality of the speakers.

Got to Love Those German CarsFirst off it's a new 2019 not a 2014 which is as new as Cars.com site goes to ??? I've been a Porsche owner for last 25 years. For one reason or another my Spyder and Macan are both gone. Had a GMC Denali for 3 months and a Honda CR-V for 3 weeks replacing the Macan. On the drive home from the dealer I said to myself - Wow I didn't realize how much I missed a German car. Light, responsive, handles, quick - a Sportscar plus flip the rear seats down and it's a Home Depot buddy. I know cars - 9 new cars in last 14 months. I usually know more about the car than the person trying to sell it to me. If you want something sporty and useful VW GTI is one to check out.

Best performance vehicleI think the vehicle is very slick and nice on the outside but on the inside I am not so impressed, just a basic design and not too much going on , performance wise it’s one the best cars I have ever driven.

A fun car to driveThe car drives like new and handles like a sport car. Very power full for a small car. This is my third Volkswagen in my house.

Absolutely great - as usualThe GTI offers an excellent blend of driving enjoyment and practicality wrapped in a package that feels more expensive than it actually is. The 2.0 liter engine is rated at 210 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy is EPA-rated at 25/33 mpg with the dual-clutch 6-speed automatic transmission. The GTI received a five-star overall crash safety score from NHTSA (out of a possible five stars). In IIHS testing, the GTI received the Top Safety Pick+ award. I could continue to say what a great car but the experts agree: 1. Car and Driver magazine calls the GTI "Simply the Best". 2. Consumer Reports rates the 2017 GTI as the most reliable version from 2015 to 2019. 3. Car and Driver awarded it with a 10 Best trophy for the 15th consecutive year in 2020. 4. Motor Trend gave it a win against a Honda Civic Si, Mini Cooper S and Subaru Impreza WRX. 5. Consumer Reports gives it a driving experience rating of 98 out of 100 points. 6. Road & Track says "Better than the competition. This new GTI is not to be trifled with."

Fast, Economical Great Handling, HatchbackMine was a 2015 not a 2014 the review form did not allow that new of a year. There is nothing about this car that was not well thought out, and well implemented. Fuel economy is remarkable, performance is superb and I can say i is a joy to own and drive. I am very pleased with this car.

Cutest car I've owned. This car meets all of my needs. It drives well, it's sporty, and it's really fun to see speeding down the road. It has a very small trunk though, so it's not good for moving.

Very Affordable Hot GTI 35 VWThis car is very well priced. A hot looking GTI 35th special edition. It is a 2019, not 2014. Option year was not showing. It is Red with a black front grill and red stripe insert. Has GTI 35 badging on both sides. A black roof with special black rims and a thin red stripe and VW on the rims. I added tinted windows to complete the black and red look. The GTI has 5 engine mode settings to choose from. An alarm system and cruise control. It also compes with sport mode and flappy panel gear shifters on the steering wheel. It also has Blue Think availablity to help with economy driving. Bad A Looking Car
