The Good
The 2019 Volvo XC40 offers a blend of advantages. Emotionally, its stylish design and premium interior appeal to those seeking a sophisticated ride. Practically, it boasts comfortable seats, good fuel efficiency, and a reputation for safety. While not the sportiest, its performance is adequate for daily driving. Its compact size is a boon in urban environments.
The Bad
The 2019 Volvo XC40's weaknesses include a potentially firm ride on some models, especially those with larger wheels. The infotainment system, while stylish, can be somewhat complex to navigate. What Problems Does the 2019 Volvo XC40 Have?
Recalls for the 2019 XC40 have included concerns related to the automatic emergency braking system and potential issues with the seatbelt pre-tensioners. It's important to check the vehicle's VIN with the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) to determine if it has been affected by any recalls and if the necessary repairs have been performed.
Long-term reliability is a mixed bag. While Volvo has a reputation for safety and build quality, the XC40, being a newer model, has had some teething problems. Some owners have reported premature wear of certain components. The electrical system, in particular, seems to be a source of occasional headaches. As with any car, regular maintenance is crucial for long-term reliability. Staying up-to-date on software updates and addressing any issues promptly can help mitigate potential problems.

How Does the 2019 Volvo XC40 Compare to Other Vehicle?
Alternatives to consider include the BMW X1 for its engaging driving experience and the Lexus UX for its strong reliability record. The Audi Q3 offers a similar blend of luxury and practicality. If reliability is a top priority, the Lexus UX is a strong contender, even if it sacrifices some cargo space and performance. For those prioritizing a sporty driving experience, the BMW X1 might be a better choice. The Mercedes-Benz GLA offers a more luxurious interior but can be more expensive.

Head Light control can not be seen on the column atHead Light control can not be seen on the column at night. Stock tires were horrible. I switched to yokohama's. The rims design in terrible. There is a space behind the spokes which allows for dirt and brake dust to build up. Difficult to give a finished look when detailing. Plus I can't use the GPS. NOT convenient to communicate with. Engine noise is disturbing. Biggest thing is the TPM. Would prefer it to actually read the psi of each tire. Raises your anxiety not knowing the true pressure.

I would never buy a volvo car or suv again in lifeI purchased this car brand new in 2019 off the showroom showcase. The first year was great then my car started having issues after my warranty expired. Still this car is having engine problem. The engine light is still on. When I'm at the stop light with my foot on the brakes my car engine reves up and down and jerks the car. I hate this car. I'm still paying for this car and not happy with it.

Quietest small SUV I’ve drivenThis car exceeds what’s most important to our family. Driver’s main cabinets and dashboard are easily available. Car identifies and responses to outside objects quickly. Such a smooth and quite ride. As noted in some reviews. The touch screen is a bit delay in response. Otherwise. It’s a great ride.

Most enjoyable and fun zo driveThis car meets all my needs and it looks cool too! I love the sport wheels and how smoothly it drives. My only complaint....the cup holders. I dont think they are deep enough or wide.

Best car I've ever ownedThe styling is fantastic — compliments received daily on this car. Inside, the interior is beautiful and extremely comfortable. The interior room is more than ample for a tall person sitting in the rear. I have all of the packages - except the one with the 360 camera and active bending headlights. I'd recommend you don't get a stripped down model — it feels a little less luxurious — but it will still look and drives great if you do.

Comfortable and fun to driveI like the adaptive cruise control, power to accelerate, comfortable seats, and speakers. What I don’t like is the voice control since it never gets what I want to do. I don’t like the dashboard, which is cumbersome. I don’t like having to switch to economy drive every time I stop the car. The trunk is too small for a bike and the wheel wells stick out inside the car do area minimizing carrying capacity.

I like all the technology and comfortable.Love it. It is comfortable to sit in and drive. Love the safety features and technology. I like the fact that you don’t have a lot of buttons and cluttered. I think it is reasonably priced also.
