Final Verdict: Is the 2015 Hyundai Elantra a Good Sedan?

Terrible, unreliable. This was my first used car I've purchased at a dealership. After looking up reviews for it, it sounded like a good reliable car, well I was wrong. Two weeks after buying it it started to stall with an oil light flickering, dealership said “get an oil change†even though they said they did one already. I'm 40 percent blaming the dealership for selling me a crappy car. A month after buying it it starts to tick, I was told “it needs a new engine†so basically a month after buying it the whole car is screwed. I've never replaced the engine and I've owned it for a few years now, I don't have $6k when I'm paying $700 a month for the car and insurance. I've heard many different things what could be the problem . The dealership tried to blame me, when it needed a new engine after only a month. I've consistently gotten oil changes done, the thing is with this is that whenever it's time for an oil change the car starts to stall and light flickers, even if the oil level is fine. So that sucks. Engine STILL constantly ticks, I've had so many issues with it. I've put so much into fixing all these issues and it's never enough. The car always has something to throw at me. I don't trust this car AT ALL, to get my to point A or B anymore. All I wanted was a reliable car, I'm low income and I'm a caretaker for my disabled mom. I needed a car that wouldn't have so many expensive issues, I understand maintenance and things break but my god, this car is something else.

I love this car!I purchased my 2015 Hyundai Elantra Limited without really even knowing all the extras it has. I'm learning new things about it all the time. I've never had a car so fancy! Hey, after 12 years with a Kia Spectra, this car is FANCY! I've never had leather seats, let alone heated leather seats! I've never been able to make a phone call by telling the car to call someone! I cant really think of anything about this vehicle that disappoints me at all. I'm just grateful to Gustman Honda in Appleton and my salesman Jon Devet for being so great and helping me keep to my budget while still getting SO much car! I know she's 6yrs old but shes like new to me, and I love her. Great car!
Hyundai sells defective cars and on April 28, 2021
Most unreliable car that I have ever bought!!!!!!!The engine has problems with piston slapping and under sized oil pump, which made a noise drive and wondering when the engine would break. Had the oil pan seal gasket redone 5 times and the crankcase seal 3. Had enough and decided to trade it in Then when to purchase a new vehicle from a different manufacture, they called the Hyundai dealership for vehicle record and they responded by saying that my vehicle had a defective engine. This is ironic because it was the first time Hyundai was honest but it cost me $1000 on the trade in. Hyundai dealership could not say to my face that had a defective engine it ,or when the vehicle when under warranty.

Great accelerationI enjoy the power, the acceleration, of this small sedan. The small profile of this auto helps it, I believe, get the fantastic mileage that it gets. I also enjoy the comfortable seats.

Very excitingThe car runs extremely smooth and nice, backup camera is a little blurry but I can still see. I absolutely love it and can't wait for my future with it.

Not the best, not the worstIf you are looking for a car with a nice design this is a “good looking “car. It's not the most reliable, you are not getting the best deal on the market if you buy this car. Expect to lose a lot of money in reparations, but look at the good part you are paying a decent amount of money for a car that it looks good, with generous features.

Most comfortable car I've droveThis car met all my needs. Is spacious, comfortable, very soft and smooth to drive. It is a great value for the money! I'm very happy having a Elantra.

Surprised by a good value! The Limited has surprising features for a value-priced car. Heated leather seats in the front and back! The rear view camera/navigation is a nice touch. The dash/console is nicely organized without complications. The power seats were a good addition for me since I am short and need quicker adjustments for the sun glaring mostly. The downfall is more road noise than I am used to. I hope that newer tires will be better.
