The Good
The 2007 Hyundai Sonata boasts a comfortable ride and a spacious interior, appealing to practical buyers seeking value. Its competitive pricing and generous standard features make it a sensible choice. Emotionally, the Sonata offers a sense of "more car for your money," with a relatively stylish design for its class, particularly in higher trims.
The Bad
Potential weaknesses of the 2007 Hyundai Sonata include some interior plastic quality and potential for electrical issues. Some owners have reported problems with the automatic transmission. What Problems Does the 2007 Hyundai Sonata Have?
There have been recalls related to airbag systems in some model years of the Sonata, so it's crucial to check the vehicle's VIN for any outstanding recall notices. Long-term reliability can be affected by consistent maintenance. Neglecting oil changes or other routine services can exacerbate existing problems. Some owners have reported issues with the climate control system, including failing compressors or blower motors. The 2007 model year, while generally reliable, can exhibit these issues as the car ages, making a thorough inspection before purchase essential. Specifically, look for any signs of corrosion, transmission slippage, or unusual electrical behavior.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features were limited compared to modern standards. ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and traction control were available. Safety features included standard front airbags. Higher trims might have included side airbags and curtain airbags.
Crash-test ratings from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) should be consulted for detailed safety performance. Generally, the Sonata performed reasonably well in crash tests for its class. Optional features depended on the trim level and could include a sunroof, leather seats, and upgraded wheels. Built in tech was rather basic, with no bluetooth or smartphone integration available from factory.

How Does the 2007 Hyundai Sonata Compare to Other Sedan?
Alternatives to the Sonata include the Toyota Camry, known for its reliability; the Honda Accord, praised for its driving dynamics; and the Mazda 6, which offered a sportier driving experience. If reliability is a top priority, the Camry is a better choice. If driving dynamics are preferred, the Accord or Mazda 6 are superior. However, for budget-conscious buyers seeking a spacious and well-equipped sedan, the Sonata remains a viable option, particularly if a well-maintained example can be found at a lower price than its rivals.

4 cyl 2.4L engine is peppy yet economic. The Sonata is NOT a Toyota or Honda in terms of quality and ONLY sold/sell well because of their 100k warranty, that offers some peace of mind. My 2007 engine died recently with 157,000 miles, but some can keep running well over 200,000 miles (the V6 engines appear to hold up better than the 4 cylinders).

Great car. Never had any problems with it.The Sonata was a great car and it lasted a long time. It took us on several vacations and where ever we needed to go. It was a smooth riding car and it had enough room to be comfortable in. It had a pretty big trunk also.I will miss it after having it so long.

Hyundai Sonata is the Best Car I've ever Owned!!!My wife and I purchased a brand new Hyundai Sonata back in 2006. We racked up 170,000+ miles on it without any major issues. We absolutely loved the car! Too bad an inattentive driver pulled out in front of my wife one Friday evening and totaled our car. We decided to look for another Hyundai Sonata to replace our 2006. We found a 2007 V6 Sonata in excellent condition and decided to purchase it. We are happy to be driving a Sonata again! They are reliable and dependable cars.

Sonata Limited-Still goingThis car met my needs, and still meets my needs...going to keep it until it drops. changed tires at 60k, brakes, headlight, taillight at 100k Just oil change through the years. Interior is in good shape. It got hail damage 1 1/2 years after I bought it but I decided to keep it and I'm glad I did
