The best SUV ever!

I'm driving my highlander til it drops. At 276,000 miles it still drives like new! I'm driving back and forth from Tennessee to Minneapolis 4 to 5 times per year, pulling a trailer! It has never once let me down, I totally trust it.

Been a great car

bought this car for 1000 bucks 5 months ago at 330k miles, and it’s currently sitting at 341,300. definetly the most reliable car i’ve owned after doing some basic maintenance work, was very cheap and can find them anywhere great for going anywhere and has never left me stranded. 10/10 car

Great car 'til demolished

The 2005 Toyota Highlander was recalled because gas pedal stuck . Give me more info on this, please. I braked and swerved to keep a car from hitting me. I lost control. Witnesses said car went up rolling over three times and hit a transformer on top of a telephone poll 30 feet up. Tell me about the recall.

Good car,goes straight, nice tires, large windows easy to see around. The cup holders are not designed very well, to low, some other compartments i don't kno what they are for.

Love My Highlander!

I purchased my used 2005 V6 AWD Highlander in 2007 with 40,000km on it. I was looking for a vehicle to tow a 19' bowrider and a 14' camper because my 2000 Sienna van struggled a bit with the weight. I cannot say how pleased I am with the performance of my Highlander. This vehicle tows with absolute ease and stability. It is very DIY friendly and easy to maintain. I rotate my tires every 10,000km, change my engine compartment and cabin filters regularly, synthetic oil faithfully every 5,000km and since ownership have only had the timing belt and water pump changed, the latter as a precaution only. I love the comfort, quiet and power of this SUV, the accessibility of the dash and the roominess of the cabin. It has a pretty good sound system, too! I have awesome snow tires for winter (it has only seen 3) and it just munches through the snow. I'm not a big fan of leather seats but that was the package it came with and the heated seat feature is very nice. I get passers by my home a couple of times a year asking if I want to sell it. I will keep my Highlander and enjoy it until it runs no more!

Had this car for 14 years!

Awesome car--I had it for 14 years and put 185000 miles on it and the KBB was still $5000. Easy to repair, easy to drive, tons of room for camping and hauling friends around town.

Best for family and work

What's not to like? We have owned our 2005 4cyl Highlander with excellent gas mileage since 2008. That's 11 going on 12 years for us. We solved the only problems: Heater and A/C temp control (analog knobs) was wacky until I found a YouTube video to fix it (simple wires inside console) myself. We also had some occaisional brake squeaks - turned out to be those cheaper brake pads and our dirt road. ... We LOVE this car/SUV. Love the classic styling, large tail lights, really excellent visibility all around and over the shoulder. I can haul 8' boards inside since all the seats fold down. We haved hauled small trailers with ease. Carry ladders on the roof rack. ... Maybe I will upgrade the tiny sound horn someday since it doesn't quite match this girl's personality. Our paint color is sexy too: Salsa Red. ... My favorite question about SUVs these days: Why don't they make 'em with good visibility anymore? Answers I get: Cameras, Style, Safety. - But I think this car doesn't need a backup camera, has great style, and very safe. ... Wish I could someday get a new one just exactly like this one. That will never happen because????
