The Good
The 2021 Hyundai Accent boasts exceptional fuel efficiency, making it a practical choice for daily commutes. Its comfortable ride and user-friendly infotainment appeal to emotional buyers seeking a pleasant driving experience. The Accent's strong value proposition, including its warranty, and reliability ratings provide peace of mind. It provides a surprisingly good driving experience for a subcompact car.
The Bad
The 2021 Hyundai Accent's weaknesses include its relatively small rear seats and limited cargo space. Engine performance, while adequate for city driving, can feel underpowered on the highway, especially when fully loaded. The base SE trim lacks some desirable features. Keep an eye on potential transmission issues, although these are not widespread.

What Problems Does the 2021 Hyundai Accent Have?
While the 2021 model hasn't had widespread recalls, it's always recommended to check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for any updates or recalls related to specific VINs. Long-term reliability concerns are typical for a subcompact car. Regular maintenance, following the recommended service schedule, is crucial to ensure the longevity of the engine and transmission. Rust can be a concern in areas with harsh winters, so rustproofing measures can be beneficial. Overall, the 2021 Accent has a decent reliability record, but staying informed about potential issues and maintaining the vehicle properly is important for long-term ownership satisfaction. Some owners have reported issues with the AC compressor failing prematurely, so it's worth checking the condition of the AC system during inspection before purchasing a used model.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Tech & Entertainment: The base SE trim features a basic 5-inch touchscreen. SEL and Limited trims upgrade to a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. A four-speaker audio system is standard, with higher trims offering enhanced audio.
Driver-Assistance: The SEL and Limited trims come standard with automatic emergency braking (forward collision avoidance assist). Other available features include a rearview camera (standard on all trims).
Safety Features: Standard safety equipment includes airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, and traction control.
Crash-Test Ratings: The 2021 Hyundai Accent received good overall safety ratings from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Check the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) website for detailed crash-test results.
While the Accent lacks some of the more advanced driver-assistance features found in higher-end cars, such as adaptive cruise control or lane departure warning, it offers a solid foundation of safety and technology, particularly in the SEL and Limited trims. The inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is a significant plus for smartphone users.

How Does the 2021 Hyundai Accent Compare to Other Passenger Sedan?
In terms of features, the Accent offers a good balance for its price. Its reliability is generally good, though the Nissan Versa has proved to be a solid competitor. If you value a slightly more refined interior, the Nissan Versa might be a better choice. If you prefer a sportier driving experience, the Honda Fit (if you can find a used one in good condition, as it was discontinued) might be worth considering, though it's usually pricier. For similar value and features, the Kia Rio is a very close alternative. Ultimately, the best choice depends on individual preferences and priorities, but the Accent holds its own in this competitive segment.

2021 Hyundai Accent SEGreat car for the price. The warranty sold me and free oil changes for 3/36k miles. I LOVE IT! Kinda small, but doable in every way. I am a single mom with 2 children and we fit perfectly. Did I mention how awesome the warranty is. 🙂

The best car I've purchasedThe Hyundai Accent was by far the best value for my money. It met all of my needs. The backseat has a decent room and seats were comfortable, plus the technology included inside the car. Can't wait to drive it out with my friends.

I never thought I'd go with whiteThe only thing I would change is the sun visors. It may seem small but so are they. I'm a tall female and still there is a huge gap between the visor and my eyes. Other then that the gas mileage is amazing and very comfy for a compact car.
