Nice looking car, drives fairly well, if you overlook theNice looking car, drives fairly well, if you overlook the turbo lag. Bought mine used Jan 2024, from Sutliff VW, it had 54K on it. Dealer kept is 10days from the day I bought it, to fix (take your choice), carbon deposits they blamed on bad gas, another oil leak (never told me there was one in the 1st place), and had to replace a gasket. Blamed the long delay on getting parts from VW. Turns out that NONE of that showed up in the maint info on the app. I asked several times for a printout of the service, never got it. Went back about 6mos later, after I had a diff dealership service it, and asked again for a printout. The only service in their system was from Dec 2023, when they certified it. Now it's burning oil and blowing blue smoke. Had I known about the issues these vehicles had, I NEVER would have bought it.

DO NOT GET A 2022.DO NOT GET A 2022. Plagued with issues. At dealer every month for two years so far. Just hit 50k with head gasket part not in (months backlog). Horrible horrible purchase. Avoid 2022s at all costs

A Satisfied User Who Got His Moneys WorthIt's a medium-sized SUV. It's not a Porsche, Audi or MB. It is comfortable, reliable, the size and capacity I sought. In two years I've put on ~24K miles and absolutely no problems. My wife is handicapped and uses a walker. She thought the car was comfortable and we made two round trips from Hartford, CT to Key West. In the last 60 years We've had a Beetle, Passat, and a VW Bus that carried our family of four and 2 Dachshunds aacross the country and back to Connecticut - Twice!

WTH VWWhat a xxx. I got the 22 SEL R-Line and let me tell you it's not worth your hard earned cash. No clue what VW thought when building this vehicle. The drivers assists every few days constantly giving me errors every 5 seconds, the infotainment system is trash. Doesn't save navigation locations, cuts out, or goes black screened. Comfortable is poor. As a 5'11 220lbs human being, my bottom is sore after driving 2 hours. I've owned a Jetta and a Passat and those never gave me any discomfort. The only thing this thing does decently is cornering. For this price point why couldn't it get more power similar to the GTI?!?!?! GET YOURSELF SOMETHING BETTER.

I read the manualI really love the feel and comfort of this vehicle. It serves my family of 4 well. I am the 2nd owner at 13,000 miles. Only issue so far is the oil consumption. After only driving the car 600 miles after my first oil change, check oil light came on. It was a qt. low. I am now in the process of getting it checked at my local VW dealer. Will update on outcome.

Not a long term vehicleBought this new about 18 months and 20,000 miles ago. I’ll start off with a few of the good points. Interior is spacious and quite comfortable for long drives. The redesign they did really works inside and out I feel it’s not only functional but also stylish compared to the last Gen. While it’s only a base model it came with quite a bit of tech. LED headlights, digital cluster, ACC, heated cloth seats, blind spot, forward collision assist and auto dimming rear view mirror it’s all quite nice to have and they never had any faults. This car will average 29mpg on the interstate between 70-80mph and get 400 miles per tank doing it. There’s enough room for 4 adults to fit comfortably or three kids in car seats in the back. Now, for a few of the issues I’ve come across while owning this is a bit disappointing coming from a life long VW owner. To start off I maintain all my vehicles the same (1st oil change at 1,000 miles and every 3,000 after the break in period) but this is the first car I’ve had that burns oil. It may not be a lot but it’s noticeable (2/3 quart/1,000 miles) and it will alert you. I got an alert on my dashboard to shut the car off due to low oil level and it was a quart low after checking it. I let the dealer know upon my next service and VW doesn’t care to look further into it as it’s a non-issue. While I find that to be a bit of an annoyance because I have a better maintenance schedule than most people and it’s still going to have the same issue regardless. Start ups have been very loud after 5,000 miles and goes away when warmed up but it’s definitely lifter noise. The dealer said that’s normal (It’s not). All this gives me is very little confidence as I can see the writing on the wall. This car will need a motor prematurely and leave me in the side of the road one day. The performance and capability hasn’t been impressive in the slightest. VW could really give this another 30-50hp it desperately needs but they don’t care to. The AWD has been subpar in mud and slightly better for the snow but I wouldn’t go too far off the beaten path.

Do not buy these cars.Terrible engines. Mine is using a quart of oil every 800 miles and I was a fanatic during breakin. Also underpowered. Bad software, freezes up need to unplug and replug the phone constantly.

The Tiglet - SEL R-LineI must be an exception. I have had no issues with my Tiguan at all after a year and a half of ownership. Bought in October, 2021. I do notice the hesitation on start up but it’s not an issue. I had an Audi allroad and was considering the Q5 but, you get pretty much all the same features with the Tiguan that the price difference just wasn’t justified for me. Plenty of get up and space when you need it. I’m a life long VAG customer so the quirks don’t deter me. I’ve had a great experience and would recommend the Tiguan.

Car sucksI have had this car for 1year,have gone to Volkswagen dealership due to losing oil after a few months, the gentleman at the dealership said that it's normal to lose some oil when breaking in the car I excepted that even though I didn't believe it. Now it's April 12th 2023 2 weeks past 1year of ownership and approximately 2,000 miles since my first 10,000 mile oil change and this time there's no oil the check oil light is on.This car was purchased brand new.
