The Good
The 2016 G-Class boasts formidable off-road performance and powerful engines appealing to thrill-seekers. Its luxurious interior and iconic design offer unmatched comfort and prestige, satisfying emotional desires. While not the most efficient, its solid construction and reputation for durability resonate with practical buyers seeking a long-lasting, capable vehicle. Its distinctive styling is also a major advantage.
The Bad
The 2016 G-Class suffers from poor fuel economy due to its boxy shape and heavy weight. Handling can be cumbersome on pavement. Owners should watch out for potential electrical issues, rust (especially on older models), and the high cost of maintenance and repairs. Its ladder-frame construction contributes to a less refined on-road experience.

What Problems Does the 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Have?
While specific recalls for the 2016 model year may be limited, it's crucial to check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for any outstanding recalls related to safety or emissions. General long-term reliability concerns center around the complexity of the vehicle's systems and the high cost of replacement parts. The AMG models, with their higher performance engines and more complex components, may experience accelerated wear and tear. Oil leaks can also develop over time. Regular maintenance, including fluid changes and inspections, is essential to mitigate potential problems. Check for any existing service records before purchasing a used model. It's also recommended to have a pre-purchase inspection performed by a qualified mechanic specializing in Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
How long will the 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Class last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring and parking sensors, enhancing safety during maneuvering. While not offering the latest advanced driver-assistance systems found in newer vehicles, the G-Class prioritizes robust construction and traditional safety features. Standard safety equipment includes multiple airbags, anti-lock brakes, and stability control.
Optional features included upgraded leather upholstery, various interior trim finishes, and enhanced sound systems. Crash-test ratings for the 2016 G-Class are limited, as the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) and NHTSA often do not specifically test low-volume vehicles like the G-Class. However, its strong body-on-frame construction contributes to its perceived safety, but modern crash avoidance technology is less prevalent than in contemporary SUVs.

How Does the 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?
Price-wise, the G-Class is typically more expensive than the Escalade and LX 570, but can be similar to a high-end Range Rover. If off-road capability is paramount and budget isn't a concern, the G-Class is a strong contender. If comfort and a more modern driving experience are prioritized, the Range Rover is a better choice. For reliability and value, the Lexus LX 570 is a compelling alternative. The Cadillac Escalade offers more space and features for a lower price, but lacks the off-road prowess of the G-Class.

Cool SUV, Comfortable, Head TurnerOverall great experience of this suv, no complaints on the driving and comfort. The back has massive space for carrying plus if the need arises the seats can be folded 180 degrees to increase the rear space. Engine has a nice roar to it and smooth suspension. Has three driving modes, eco which will have a nice lux quiet sound to it, sport will enable the exhaust to roar, and manual for more driver control. Overall loved it and will buy again.
