The Good
The 2023 Porsche Macan excels in performance with its powerful engine options and agile handling, appealing to driving enthusiasts. It offers a comfortable and luxurious interior. While not the most fuel-efficient, its design is undeniably stylish. For practical buyers, it boasts reasonable reliability and a usable cargo area. Emotionally, owning a Porsche provides a certain prestige and driving pleasure.
The Bad
Potential weaknesses of the 2023 Porsche Macan include a higher price point compared to competitors and some expensive optional features. Rear seat space can be limited for taller passengers. Fuel economy isn't class-leading. Repair costs and maintenance can also be higher than average due to its Porsche pedigree. Watch out for potential electronic glitches as well.

How Does the 2023 Porsche Macan Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?
Alternatives depend on priorities. If performance is paramount, the BMW X3 M40i offers similar thrills. For a more comfortable and luxurious experience at a potentially lower price, the Acura RDX or Lexus NX might be better choices. If technology is a key consideration, the Mercedes-Benz GLC offers a cutting-edge infotainment system. The Audi Q5 provides a good balance of luxury, technology, and performance. Ultimately, the best alternative depends on individual needs and preferences.

Good with caveatsBought 2023 Macan T. I traded in my aging 911 for it. I did not buy another 911 because they have become too big and expensive. The Macan T is a fun car to drive if you are actively trying to drive it. The back seats are tight. The PCM is frequently confounding or crashes and won’t play any media unless you stop the car, turn it off then open the door close the door and restart it. The fit and finish is excellent. The upgraded seats are good. I can’t activate the around view monitor unless I put it into reverse. The dealer wants 300.00 to connect the my Porsche app on iPhone to the car. Porsche corporate is helpful and has normal humans that answer the phone. The PDK is fun and the exhaust has some fun subtle sounding pops. It’s like a refined hot hatch car but not really a great highway car. The base stereo is plenty good enough. Styling is top notch. Adaptive cruise works but needs supervision while using. The rear wiper appears cheap and flimsy. Should have been mounted from the top of the rear glass. The guages in the day are too dark not lit up and hard to see. The back up camera has poor resolution and has a strange perspective making it less useful. It’s a fun, clever designed expensive car with tech flaws that you have to overlook to enjoy the car. If you buy a slightly used one from a Porsche dealer you can get your warranty close to 6 years. Service is expensive probably to pay for giving you a loaner.

regretJust a not good experience and a poor value. The sunroof visor isn't blackout, you can't close the back hatch from the driver door button, 360 camera activation button is buried in a confusing head unit, when the park assist camera does come on and it starts beeping you're too close to something, it doesn't show you where the problem is, you have to hold the memory seat button the entire time the seat is adjusting, the sun visor doesn't pull out to make it longer, tiny apple car play screen, 3 distinct and loud rattles, AC vent part broke at 1500 miles, disappointing dealer experience, very expensive oil changes. Need I say more? I regret my decision to buy the Macan S. Oh yes it does handle fantastic and a $250 pedal commander solve the anemic engine but there is nothing else good about this vehicle. No more Porsche cars for me.

PCM Still DeficientThe Porsche Communications Management (PCM) system is a huge disappointment. Many, many issues from voice commands to telephone integration. My Porsche account required new pairing codes and again shows the weakness in general with Porsche electronics.

I love this carI absolutely love the way this car drives. You almost forget it is an SUV. Interior amenities and technology are lacking compared to comparable vehicles. There is a lack of good storage in the cabin. The options a pricy as in the Porsche tradition. You forget these things once you start driving. Since I got it, I figured a way out to make my commute an additional 5 miles each way. My purchase experience with Redwood City Porsche was a joy thanks to my sales associate Sam Pham. I always look forward to my next drive!

Not a bad car at all!!New to the Porsche family with a 2023, fairly loaded Macan base. I have had the vehicle for a month now without complaints. I have owned 40+ cars in my lifetime including Audi, Benz, and domestics. I live in Chicago and this is the perfect car for the city and my occasional jaunts to Michigan and Wisconsin. The driving experience does not compare to any other car I've owned. Tight, solid, quiet, and a joy to drive. Sure the connection to my iPhone is not working but never had an interest in connecting my car to the phone. For 75k, not bad. Don't need the speed or prestige of a T or GTS. So far, pleased with my purchase, kids love it too!!!

Macan S: Overpriced with Stone Age PCMBeautiful car, which I purchased from Porsche Bethesda on 10/10. However, the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) is prehistoric and non-stop problems. I've had to hard wire to the USB port as the Bluetooth while recognized does not work. Where do I start: Radio comes on unless you turn the PCM off; No full manual; PCNA expects the user to use their phone or PC. Manual is so pathetic it odes not include where the 12V adapter (for dash cam in my case) is located. Not identified nor in the owner's manual written or digital. (It's hidden under plastic with no identification). Very few safety features and the one they have a pathetic. Bose sound which many await an amp does not have controls for the sound such as an equalizer. The manual is incomplete; as if Porsche's 13 city MPG might go to 12.999999 if a full manual were provided. Overall, my MSRP $83,380 Macan S is about $15K overpriced. I will sell when my BMW M440i convertible arrives (ordered last weekend) and I will go back to a non-performance Volvo XC40 with top notch safety features for SUV duties. Don't wait your money or time (orders now 4+ months and now Bose only available with GTS). It's hard to enjoy the vehicle when you can't pay one's music or spend 5-10 minutes when I get in the vehicle to get the PCM to work.
